- Given the speed with which CD-ROM databases and software are proliferating, it is necessary to formulate specific criteria for their evaluation for the benefit of end users and to facilitate library collection development efforts. Proposes a framework for the evaluation of retrieval software of CD-ROM databases, discusses criteria for user friendliness and examines trends in the development of retrieval software
