- Abstract
- The Nationale Raad voor de Volksgezondheid contains a medium sized library with 800-1.000 new acquisitions each year and 220 periodical subscriptions. A study of commercially available automated catalogue systems showed that none met the needs of library users. After an unsuccessful attempt to develop a catalogue using Word Perfect word processing package a program was written using Turbo Pascal software to provide a user friendly catalogue with adequate help screens and Dutch language commands. The system uses little disc space and offers a 10 second response time. At present the catalogue contains books and periodical articles added in 1991-92. Plans are in hand to add material back to Jan 1990
