    Abstract
    Im Fachbereich Sprachwissenschaften der Universität Wien gibt es eine Vorlesung über Allgemeine Terminologielehre und Terminoloische Lexikographie. Im Sommersemester 1982 wurden praktische Übungen mit dem Ziel durchgeführt, die theoretischen Ergebnisse der Vorlesung zu ergänzen. Die Studenten übernahmen die Planung und Durchführung kleinerer Projekte. Hierzu erhielt jeder Student eine bestimmte Menge relevanter Literatur , aus der er die für sein Thema einschlägigen Begriffe extrahiern sollte. Die Begriffsfelder wurden nach den verschiedenen Merkmalarten erstellt. Danach wurden die Begriffe nach dem Erfordernissen des sich ergebenden Systems definiert. Des weiteren wurden für die gleichen Begriffsfelder Mini-Thesauri aufgebaut. Schließlich wurden die folgenden terminologischen Tätigkeiten hinzugefügt: die Bewertung der erfaßten Benennungen sowie die terminographische Arbeit, die jeweils einer Begriffsstrukturierung folgt

    Abstract
    Zur Dokumentation und Klassifikation von mehr als 5.000 audiovisuellen Medien, die das Institut für Film und Bild in Wissenschaft und Unterricht (FWU) für den gesamten Bildungsbereich der Bundesrepublik herausgegeben hat, reichten bei Umstellung auf eine EDV-gestützte Datenbank bisherige Zuordnungssysteme nicht mehr aus. Orientiert an 37 Sachgebieten, die i.w. Unterrichtsfächern entsprechen, wurden von Fachpädagogen unter Berücksichtigung vorhandener Klassifikationen und EDV-technischer Möglichkeiten hierarchische gegliederte Fachsystematiken entwickelt, die durch frei wählbare, jedoch kontrollierte teilkategorisierte Schlagwörter ergänzt werden. Möglichkeiten und Grenzen der Hierarchie-Ebenen mit etwa 1.000 Benennungen sowie der etwa 15.000 Schlagwörter werden aufgezeigt und die Anwendung dieses Klassifikationssystems zu variabel gestaltbaren Katalogen und zu differenzierten Retrievals wird erörtert

    Abstract
    Mit Hilfe von beschrifteten, gerichteten Graphen können in vereinfachter Form die Zusammenhänge der Fachbegriffe einer Äußerung, eines Themas, eines Gegenstandsbereiches dargestellt werden. Solche semantischen Graphen können auch als Modelle des Wissens verstanden und bei der Vermittlung von Wissen - im Unterricht, im Text - als Skizze der Gedanken und Gedankengänge verwendet werden. Ihre Rolle ist mit der eines Inhaltsverzeichnisses zu vergleichen. Das semantische Modell repräsentiert die Skizze der Bedeutung von Inhalten, das Inhaltsverzeichnis hingegen die Skizze des Gegenstandes von Inhalten.     Abstract
    Für die Klassifikation von Dokumentationssystemen wird ein Baum-Diagramm vorgeschlagen. Jeder Ast des Baum-Diagramms kennzeichnet formal ein Dokumentationssystem. Für die Ausbildung der Äste des Baum-Diagramms werden 22 verschiedene Klassifikationsgründe benannt, die jedoch nicht als eine abgeschlossene Aufzählung zu verstehen sind. Jedes dieser formalen Dokumentationssysteme kann durch Zuordnung geeigneter Themen, bzw. Unterthesen in inhaltlich unterschiedliche Dokumentationssysteme überführt werden. Mit der Aufstellung einer solchen Klassifikation wird angestrebt, Dokumentationssysteme zumindest in formaler Hinsicht vergleichen zu können.

    Abstract
    Traditional cataloging support services such as typing and filing are gradually being eliminated in favor of more sophisticated skills. Library staff members who are specialized in imminently obsolete skills must be re-educated to become productive participants in the "Golden Age" of technology. The Catalog Management section at the Iowa State University Library is attempting to make this process painless and exciting for all of its employees.

    Abstract
    Für die menschliche Erlebnis- und Erfahrungsweise sind Raum und Zeit die wesentlichen Ordnungsstrukturen. Die bewußte Wahrnehmung raum-zeitlicher Gebilde kommt im Gehirn zustande: In den Sinnesorganen werden bestimmte Reize physikalischer und chemischer Natur in nervöse Erregungen umgewandelt, die dem Gehirn zugeleitet und dort in komplizierter Weise verarbeitet werden. Die Ausführungen versuchen, den Kenntnishorizint der Hirnforschung im Grenzgebiet der bewußten Wahrnehmung und die Reichweite der vorhandenen Theorien der menschlichen Großhirnfunktion zu skizzieren und behandeln zuletzt die psychischen Erlebniswelten von Raum und Zeit und deren Störungen

    Abstract
    Aufgabe der Datenanalyse ist es, Daten zu ordnen, übersichtlich darzustellen, verborgene und natürlich Strukturen zu entdecken, die diesbezüglich wesentlichen Eigenschaften herauszukristallisieren und zweckmäßige Modelle zur Beschreibung von Daten aufzustellen. Es wird ein Einblick in die Methoden und Prinzipien der Datenanalyse vermittelt. Anhand typischer Beispiele wird gezeigt, welche Daten analysiert, welche Strukturen betrachtet, welche Darstellungs- bzw. Ordnungsmethoden verwendet, welche Zielsetzungen verfolgt und welche Bewertungskriterien dabei angewendet werden können. Diskutiert wird auch die angemessene Verwendung der unterschiedlichen Methoden, wobei auf die gefahr und Art von Fehlinterpretationen hingewiesen wird
