- Abstract
- Die diesjährige Arbeitstagung der Europäischen Patentbibliotheken fand vom 31. Mai bis zum 3. Juni 2010 in Dresden statt und stand unter dem Motto: PATLIB 2010 - Patent Information - a Business tool. Veranstalter waren das Europäische Patentamt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Patentamt und der Technischen Universität Dresden. Rund 250 Teilnehmer von 180 Patentbibliotheken aus 28 Ländern waren nach Dresden gekommen, um die Kooperation mit dem Amt und den Partnern weiter zu festigen, die zukünftige Entwicklung im Zeichen der Erweiterung ihrer Dienstleistungen und deren Qualitätsstandards zu diskutieren und aus Beispielen zu lernen, wie in Zukunft die Dienstleistungen noch effizienter gestaltet werden können.

- Abstract
- Deutsches Patent und Markenamt - Ergebnisse der Nutzerumfrage im Jahre 2004 Das Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt hat eine Nutzerumfrage durchgeführt, um festzustellen, welche Wünsche und Erfordernisse den Nutzern am Herzen liegen, um optimale elektronische Informationsdienste anbieten zu können. Eine erfreulich hohe Zahl von 1.046 (920 EMail, 126 Post/Fax) Rückmeldungen zeigt das große Interesse der interessierten Kreise an dieser Umfrage. Die statistische Analyse ergab, dass sich die Nutzergruppen erwartungsgemäß zu 51 Prozent aus Unternehmen, zu 23 Prozent aus der Patentanwaltschaft und zu rd. 12 Prozent aus Einzelerfindern zusammensetzten. Die weitere Aufarbeitung nach Unternehmensgröße ergab, dass 34 Prozent der Antworten von Unternehmen kamen mit mehr als 1.000 Beschäftigten, 28 Prozent von Unternehmen mit bis zu 1.000 Beschäftigten, 13 Prozent von Unternehmen mit bis zu 100 Beschäftigten und 25 Prozent von Unternehmen mit bis zu zehn Beschäftigten. Damit wird deutlich, dass im wesentlichen große Betrieb an dieser Umfrage interessiert waren.

- Abstract
- Die diesjährige Konferenz der Europäischen Patentbibliotheken, ausgerichtet vom Europäischen Patentamt in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Bulgarischen Patentamt, fand in Sofia, Bulgarien, statt. Diese Arbeitstagung stand unter dem Motto: PATLIB 2009 - Building on best practices. Rund 200 Teilnehmer von 180 Patentbibliotheken, insbesondere wieder aus den osteuropäischen Mitgliedsländern, waren nach Sofia gekommen, um die Kooperation mit dem Amt und den Partnern zu festigen, die zukünftige Entwicklung im Zeichen der Erweiterung ihrer Dienstleistungen und deren Qualitätsstandards zu diskutieren und aus Beispielen zu lernen, wie in Zukunft die Dienstleistungen noch wirksamer gestaltet werden können. Schon bei der Vorbereitung der Tagung zeichnete sich ab, dass ein Strukturwandel unverzichtbar ist, wenn die Patentbibliotheken auch weiterhin ihre Vormachtstellung in der Versorgung ihrer Region mit Informationen zum gewerblichen Rechtsschutz behaupten und ihre Rolle im Innovationskreislauf spielen wollen. Nicht nur hochwertige intelligente Serviceleistungen sind gefragt; wünschenswert ist eine durchgehende Unterstützung der Kunden von der Idee bis zum Produkt. Dies bedeutet, eine intensive, fachlich fundierte Beschäftigung mit Innovationsproblemen, Finanzierungsmaßnahmen, Wettbewerbskontrollen und "last not least" die Umsetzung zu qualitativ hochwertigen, gewerblichen Schutzrechten und die Verfolgung der gesetzlich notwendigen Schritte bis zur Lizenzierung und Bewertung von Schutzrechtsportfolios. Dieser Wandel muss umso dringender erfolgen, je umfassender und erfolgreicher die Fortschritte sind, die von Patentbehörden und Internetprovider von Jahr zu Jahr unternommen werden, um die Öffentlichkeit mit präzisen und umfassenden Informationen zu versorgen. Insbesondere Ratsuchende aus mittelständischen Unternehmen benötigen diese Hilfestellungen, wie aus vielen vorliegenden Untersuchungen zu entnehmen ist. Leider ist vielen Ratsuchenden auch nicht bewusst, welches Risiko sie eingehen, wenn sie ohne die fachkundige Unterstützung vom eigenen Schreibtisch aus nur über primäre Internetrecherchen Schutzrechte anmelden und erst nach möglichen Rückschlägen auf professionelle Hilfe zurückgreifen.

- Abstract
- Die 37. Arbeitssitzung der AGM (Arbeitsgruppe Elektronische Medien in der Patentinformation) beim Technischen Informationszentrum des Deutschen Patent- und Markenamtes in Berlin am 12. November 2009 stand wie in jedem Jahr unter dem Motto "Fortschritte in der Patentinformation". Die Arbeitsgruppe besteht seit 37 Jahren und hat inzwischen rd. 80 Mitglieder aus Wirtschaft und Behörden, die bei Bedarf regelmäßig informiert werden. In diesem Jahr haben wieder 38 Fachleute den Weg nach Berlin gefunden, um sich mit Fragen und Problemen der Patentinformation auseinanderzusetzen.

- Abstract
- Die 39. Arbeitssitzung der AGM (Arbeitsgruppe Elektronische Medien in der Patentinformation) am 10. November 2011 beim Technischen Informationszentrum des Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt in Berlin behandelte traditionsgemäß "Fortschritte in der Patentinformation". Die AG hat rd. 76 Mitglieder aus Wirtschaft und Behörden. In diesem Jahr haben sich 28 Patentfachleute in Berlin mit Neuerungen und der zukünftigen Entwicklung der Patentinformation vertraut gemacht. Wer hätte es für möglich gehalten, dass innerhalb von nur etwa zwei Jahren fast alle ostasiatischen Patentdokumente und Gebrauchsmuster, seien sie aus China, aus Japan, aus Korea oder aus Taiwan in lateinischen Buchstaben über brauchbare Maschinenübersetzungen und nicht nur über Google recherchierbar sind und dies nicht nur in den bibliographischen Daten und Abstracts sondern in Volltexten. Insbesondere dem Europäischen Patentamt, der WIPO mit Patentscope und verschiedenen bedeutenden Provider haben wir dieses Fortschritt zu verdanken.
