- Abstract
- Rotterdam City Library in the Netherlands has for a number of years cooperated with the Erasmus University and Maritime Museum to provide a union catalogue of holdings. However, the 1st steps have been taken to create a consortium of 20 libraries offering a shared catalogue via the Internet. The system will create easier access to collections for users and allow a more efficient use of acquisition budgets. Some smaller libraries are currently reluctant to participate through fear of escalating costs of loss of identity
