    - Cataloguing Section (Sektion Katalogisierung) (S.1007-1010) . . . Pat Riva (Bibliotheque et Archives nationales du Quebec) leitet die FRBR Review Group. Diese Gruppe pflegt u.a. eine umfangreiche Bibliografie zum Thema FRBR Im Herbst 2008 wurde der Entwurf des FRBR Namespace in der sog. NDSL-Sandbox" erstellt. Noch offen ist derzeit, wie die Deklaration der Entität "Familie" aus den FRAD aussehen soll. Diese ist aus Gründen der Logik Bestandteil der Gruppe 2 und bereits im ICP und den RDA verankert. Allerdings ist sie nicht ausdrückIich in den FRBR definiert. Nachdem die Ergebnisse aus den Arbeitsgruppen zu Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD) und Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Data (FRSAD) vorliegen, soll nun die Verantwortlichkeit für die Gesamtheit der Modelle an die FRBR Review Group übergehen. Die FRBR Review Group hat zwei Arbeitsgruppen, die Working Group on Aggregates, die von Ed O'Neill (OCLC) geleitet wird, und die Working Group on FRBR/CRM dialogue, die von Patrick Le Boeuf (Bibliotheque nationale de France) und Martin Dörr (für CIDOC CRM) gemeinsam geleitet wird. Als Ergebnis der letztgenannten Gruppe wurde auf der Website von CIDOC CRM die Version 1.0 der "FRBRoo", der objektorientierten Umsetzung der FRBR, veröffentlicht.

    Abstract
    Am Rande des Kongresses fand auch wieder ein DDC-Anwendertreffen statt. Dabei ging es z.B. um die künftige Verwendung des Datenformats MARC 21 für die DDC-Norm- und -Titeldaten. Weiterhin wurden Pläne für eine neue norwegische und eine erstmalige schwedische DDC-Übersetzung präsentiert. Diese zeigen wie die in den letzten Jahren entstandenen bzw. derzeit entstehenden deutschen, italienischen und französischen Ausgaben der DDC 22, dass eine Übersetzung der im nordamerikanischen Kontext entwickelten Klassifikation und deren Anpassung an die europäischen Gegebenheiten eine grosse Herausforderung darstellt. Aufgrund dieser Erfahrungen haben sich Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von europäischen Nationalbibliotheken im Juni 2007 in der Schweizerischen Nationalbibliothek in Bern getroffen und eine Europäische DDC-Anwendergruppe gegründet (European DDC Users' Group EDUG) EDUG hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, in Zusammenarbeit mit OCLC die Weiterentwicklung und Weiterverbreitung der DDC in Europa zu koordinieren. Diese Pläne wurden in Durban der internationalen Anwendergemeinschaft präsentiert. Unterarbeitsgruppen werden in den nächsten Monaten versuchen, die europäischen Bedürfnisse im Rechts- und Bildungswesen in die DDC-Strukturen einzubringen. Die DDC selbst wird ständig in allen Fachgebieten überarbeitet. Für alle Interessenten sei das Deweyblog empfohlen.

    Abstract
    Within the multilingual framework of the CrissCross project, MACS (Multilingual Access to Subjects) has continued its work. MACS has developed a prototype of mappings between three vocabularies: the LCSH (Library of Congress Subject Headings), RAMEAU (Répertoire d'autorité-matière encyclopédique et alphabétique unifié) and the SWD (Schlagwortnormdatei). A database with a Link Management System (LMI), which allows for an easy linking between English, French and German subject headings, was created. The database started working with headings from the disciplines sports and theatre, but by now headings from all other fields of knowledge have been included as well. In 2008-2010, equivalencies between English and French headings which had been produced by the Bibliothèque nationale de France have been completed with the most important German SWD topical terms. Thus, more than 50.000 trilingual links are now available and can be used in different retrieval scenarios. It is planned to use them in The European Library (TEL) in order to support multilingual searches over all European National Library collections. The article informs about the project workflow, methodology of mapping and future applications of MACS links.

    "Am 16. August 2005 fand in Oslo im Rahmen der heurigen IFLA-Konferenz das alljährliche Treffen der DDC-Übersetzer und der weltweiten DeweyAnwender-Institutionen (Nationalbibliotheken, Ersteller von Nationalbibliografien) statt. Die im Sommer 2005 bereits abgeschlossene deutsche Übersetzung wird in der Druckfassung Ende des Jahres in 4 Bänden vorliegen, beim K. G. Saur Verlag in München erscheinen (ISBN 3-598-11651-9) und 2006 vom ebenfalls erstmals ins Deutsche übersetzten DDC-Lehrbuch (ISBN 3-598-11748-5) begleitet. Pläne für neu startende Übersetzungen der DDC 22 gibt es für folgende Sprachen: Arabisch (mit der wachsenden Notwendigkeit, Klasse 200 Religion zu revidieren), Französisch (es erschien zuletzt eine neue Kurzausgabe 14, nun werden eine vierbändige Druckausgabe und eine frz. Webversion anvisiert), Schwedisch, Vietnamesisch (hierfür wird eine an die Sprache und Schrift angepasste Version des deutschen Übersetzungstools zum Einsatz kommen).
    Allgemein DDC 22 ist im Gegensatz zu den früheren Neuauflagen der Standard Edition eine Ausgabe ohne generelle Überarbeitung einer gesamten Klasse. Sie enthält jedoch zahlreiche Änderungen und Expansionen in fast allen Disziplinen und in vielen Hilfstafeln. Es erschien auch eine Sonderausgabe der Klasse 200, Religion. In der aktuellen Kurzausgabe der DDC 22 (14, aus 2004) sind all diese Neuerungen berücksichtigt. Auch die elektronische Version exisitiert in einer vollständigen (WebDewey) und in einer KurzVariante (Abridged WebDewey) und ist immer auf dem jüngsten Stand der Klassifikation. Ein Tutorial für die Nutzung von WebDewey steht unter www.oclc.org /dewey/ resourcesitutorial zur Verfügung. Der Index enthält in dieser elektronischen Fassung weit mehr zusammengesetzte Notationen und verbale Sucheinstiege (resultierend aus den Titeldaten des "WorldCat") als die Druckausgabe, sowie Mappings zu den aktuellsten Normdatensätzen aus LCSH und McSH. Aktuell Die personelle Zusammensetzung des EPC (Editorial Policy Committee) hat sich im letzten Jahr verändert. Dieses oberste Gremium der DDC hat Prioritäten für den aktuellen Arbeitsplan festgelegt.
