Abstract: Da in den nächsten Monaten zahlreiche Institutionen und Gremien der Europäischen Union über den Richtlinienvorschlag zur Harmonisierung des Urheberrechts und der verwandten Schutzrechte in der Informationsgesellschaft beraten werden, hat eine BDB/DBI-Arbeitsgruppe das folgende Statement formuliert und - ergänzt um weitere Unterlagen - im Juli 1998 an deutsche Mitglieder des Europa-Parlaments versandt, um die Position der deutschen Bibliotheken deutlich zu machen. Die Einträge der Datenbank sind im ISBD-Format aufbereitet und enthalten alle Angaben, die auch in der IBAS-online-Datenbank enthalten sind. Die Einträge liegen also in einer Art Katalogformat vor. Trotzdem kann nach jedem einzelnern Stichwort des Titels und in anderen Kategorien gesucht werden. Es kann auch nach Kategorien gesucht werden, die im gedruckten Katalog eine Nebeneintragung bewirken würden

Abstract

Die Datenbank historisch wertvoller Landkartenbestände wurde im DBI mit dem Datenbanksystem IBAS aufgebaut und enthält die mit Förderung der DFG erschlossenen Bestände der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preußischer Kulturbesitz, Nds SUuB Göttingen, BSB München (zusammen 172.300 Titel) Die CD-ROM Version wurde bewußt mit einem einfachen Retrievalprogramm aufgebaut, um den Kostenaufwand auch für den Benutzter gering zu halten, und um generell einen Weg aufzuzeigen, wie mit gerimgem Aufwand eine gut nutzbare Verteilung der zentral in der Verbunddatenbank gespeicherten Daten möglich ist. Die Einträge der Datenbank sind im ISBD-Format aufbereitet und enthalten alle Angaben, die auch in der IBAS-online-Datenbank enthalten sind. Die Einträge liegen also in einer Art Katalogformat vor. Trotzdem kann nach jedem einzelnern Stichwort des Titels und in anderen Kategorien gesucht werden. Abstract: Das Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education wurde im Januar 2016 vom Vorstand der Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) beschlossen. Es beruht auf der Idee von "Threshold Concepts" und sieht Informationskompetenz in einem engen Zusammenhang mit Wissenschaft und Forschung. Dadurch legt es bei der Vermittlung von Informationskompetenz eine starke Betonung auf das "Warum", nicht nur auf das "Was". Der Ansatz des Framework wird vielfach kontrovers diskutiert. Bietet er tatsächlich eine neue Sichtweise auf die Förderung von Informationskompetenz oder ist er überwiegend alter Wein in neuen Schläuchen? Kann das Framework neue Impulse für die Aktivitäten an den Bibliotheken in Deutschland setzen oder beschreibt es etwas, was wir längst machen? Der Beitrag versucht, Anregungen zu geben, welche Konsequenzen das Framework für unsere Kurse haben kann und welche veränderten Lernziele mit ihm verbunden sein können. Dabei plädiert er für ein umfassendes Verständnis von Informationskompetenz, das sich nicht auf Einzelaspekte wie Recherchekompetenz beschränkt.

Abstract: Die Diskettenausgabe kumuliert laufend die Nachweise der Druckausgabe des Fachreferatedienstes DOBI ab Jg.10(1993). Die erste Lieferung enthält über 11.000 Nachweise (auf 4 Disketten), ca. 3.000 kommen jährlich hinzu. Bei ca. 2/3 der Einträge handelt es sich um Nachweise deutscher Literatur, die im Auswertungsspektrum der internationalen Referateblätter zum Bibliotheks- und Informationswesen nur in geringem Umfang vertreten ist. Abstract: Am Hochschulbibliothekszentrum des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen (hbz) wird seit Anfang 2014 nach Vorgaben und unter Begutachtung der Universitäts- und Landesbibliotheken in Düsseldorf, Münster und Bonn ein neuer Webauftritt für die Landesbibliographie Nordrhein-Westfalens, die Nordrhein-Westfälische Bibliographie (NWBib) entwickelt. Die Entwicklung basiert auf der Web-Schnittstelle des Linked-Open-Data-Dienst lobid und wird vollständig mit Open-Source-Software entwickelt. Aus der Perspektive des Entwicklungsteams am hbz beschreibt der Artikel Kontext und Durchführung des Projekts. Der Beitrag skizziert die historische Entwicklung der NWBib mit Fokus auf die Beziehung der Bibliographie zum World Wide Web (WWW), erläutert die Voraussetzungen für die Neuentwicklung sowie die Leitlinien des Entwicklungsprozesses, gibt einen Überblick über die Nutzung des neuen Webauftritts und die zur Umsetzung verwendete Technologie. Abgeschlossen wir der Artikel mit Lessons-Learned und einem Ausblick auf weitere Entwicklungen.

Abstract: Schon zur Wende ins 20. Jahrhundert zweifelte der belgische Privatgelehrte Paul Otlet an der Zukunft des Buches und der Bibliothek. Statt dessen begann er damit, eine Dokumentation und Neuorganisation des Weltwissens anzulegen, und mittels eines Karteikartensystems (Répertoire Bibliographique Universel) zu vernetzen. Dieses Projekt eines flexiblen, abfrageorientierten Wissensbestandes in einem 'Hypermedium' (Otlet) besetzte jene technologische Leerstelle, die inzwischen eine die bibliothekarische Epoche aufsprengende neue Wissenskultur der digitalen Medialität produziert hat.
