- Abstract
- Mit den Worten 'Licht am Ende des Tunnels' und 'Zielgerade in Sicht' charakterisierte Albrecht Fischer (ekz) den erreichten Stand der Systematik-Revision bei der Begrüßung der Arbeitsgruppe 'ASB-Überarbeitung'. Sie hatte sich vom 8.-10.3.99 zu ihrer Sitzung in Reutlingen getroffen. Der Tagungsort war nicht zufällig gewählt, ist die ekz doch künftig Großanwender der neuen Gliederungslösungen. Ab Nummer 1/2000 sollen die neuen ASB-Notationen im ekz-Informationsdienst transportiert werden. Während der Sitzung beschäftigte sich die Arbeitsgruppe mit 6 Hauptgruppen in unterschiedlichen Beratungsstadien. Im wesentlichen abgeschlossen werden konnten die Teilgliederungen für R,S,U und V. Erstmals standen die Gliederungsvorschläge für die Hauptgruppen W und X auf der Tagesordnung

- "Im Frühjahr 2010 hat eine Kommission aus je drei Praktikerinnen und Systematikexpertinnen aus ASB- und KAB-Anwenderbibliotheken ihre Arbeit aufgenommen. Als ASB-Expertinnen aktiv sind: Birgit Bellinger (Stadtbücherei Stuttgart), Barbara Kette (Stadtbibliothek Mannheim) und Uta Nieper (Stadtbibliothek Saarbrücken). Die KAB wird vertreten durch Sigrid Riedel (Stadt- und Regionalbibliothek Frankfurt/ Oder), Ulrike Rosner (Stadtbibliothek Chemnitz) und Daniela Sitte-Zöllner (Städtische Bibliotheken Dresden). Tatkräftig unterstützt wird die Expertinnengruppe von der ekz, die die Geschäfte führt und das Know-how der ekz-Systematisierer einbringt. Den Vorsitz hat Heinz-Jürgen Lorenzen im Auftrag der Steuerungsgruppe der Systematikkooperation übernommen. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, durch die kooperative Pflege der Systematiken die anfallende Arbeit auf mehrere Schultern zu verteilen und damit mittelfristig Synergieeffekte zu erzielen. Neben der anstehenden Aktualisierungsarbeit an beiden Systematiken soll künftig aber auch weitergedacht werden: Angestrebt wird eine schrittweise Angleichung von ASB und KAB, sodass langfristig zwei kompatible Systematiken unter Beibehaltung der jeweiligen Notationen entstehen. Ein erstes Update für ausgewählte, besonders dringlich anstehende Gruppen der ASB ist für Anfang 2012 geplant: So befinden sich derzeit die Gruppen Z, 0, H in der Bearbeitung. Der Arbeitsplan sieht vor, danach die Gruppen E, N, P, U, und We in Angriff zu nehmen. Weiterer Überarbeitungsbedarf aus Sicht der Fachöffentlichkeit kann gerne an den Vorsitzenden gerichtet werden.

- Ziel der Bearbeitung der Gliederung war neben der Aktualisierung des Begriffsapparats die weitere Erhöhung von Transparenz und Aussagekraft der Sachgruppen. Dies wird vor allem durch viele zusätzliche Inhaltsangaben (einleitende Wendung »Hier:...«) unter den Systemstellen erreicht, ein Novum in der KAB. Während der Arbeit an den einzelnen Hauptgruppen waren zahlreiche Klassifizierungsfälle zu klären und Zuordnungs- und Abgrenzungsregeln festzulegen. Diese finden sich auch in den Erläuterungen und sind außerdem durch viele neue Verweisungen unterlegt. Damit ist es gelungen, den Gebrauchswert der Gliederung weiter zu erhöhen. Den Umfang der Änderungen sollen im Folgenden einige Zahlen verdeutlichen. In der Grundstruktur gibt es nur eine Änderung: die Ergänzung durch die Hauptgruppe Z. In dieser ausgebauten Hauptgruppe für Informatik und Datenverarbeitung sind Software (aus M) und Hardware (aus Q) zusammengefasst, eine längst überfällige Entscheidung. Für das Gebiet »Internet« stehen nun zum Beispiel sieben Untergruppen zur Verfügung, unter anderem sind die Themen Internet-Recherche, Homepagegestaltung, Kommunikation per Internet und Mobiles Internet berücksichtigt. Auf der Gruppenebene (beispielsweise L 3) gibt es wenig Änderungen. Streichungen wie Ergänzungen machen je etwa drei Prozent aller Gruppen aus. Bei den ersten Untergruppen (zum Beispiel L 33) sind etwa acht Prozent der vorhandenen Sachstellen gestrichen und etwa sechs Prozent ergänzt worden. In der untersten Ebene, der Ebene der zweiten Untergruppen (zum Beispiel L 331), die den Hauptteil der Gliederung ausmacht, findet man zwanzig Prozent Streichungen gegenüber sechzehn Prozent Ergänzungen. Schließlich gibt es mit den dritten Untergruppen eine neue Gliederungsstufe (zum Beispiel L 331.5)4. Mit insgesamt 162 Sachstellen haben sie an den gesamten Ergänzungen einen Anteil von 35 Prozent. Vorbild für alle neuen beziehungsweise zu erweiternden Gliederungsteile der KAB/E war die »Allgemeine Systematik für Öffentliche Bibliotheken« (ASB) aus dem Jahr 1999. In einigen Fällen bleibt - vor allem auf Grund der unterschiedlichen Be-stände - die KAB/E hinter der ASB zurück beziehungsweise entwickeltvorhandeneASB-Teile bereits weiter (zum Beispiel Gebiete wie Internet oder Festund Feiergestaltung). Die Neuerungen wiederum werden in die geplante Aktualisierung der 99er ASB einfließen. Dies sindwichtige Schritte zur Verwirklichung der angestrebten parallelen Klassifikationspflege von KAB und ASB. Fazit Der Zeitverzug bei der KABRevision hat sich - trotz teilweise schwieriger Bedingungen - letztlich als positiv erwiesen, machte er doch die notwendige gründlichere Prüfung der einzelnen Hauptgruppen anhand systematischer Teilregister möglich und erlaubte weitere Tests neuer Gliederungslösungen. Zum Schluss noch einmal herzlichen Dank an alle, die an der KAB-Überarbeitung mitgewirkt haben! Die gelungene Druckausgabe zeigt, dass sich zusätzlicher zeitlicher Aufwand und großes persönliches Engagement aller Beteiligten gelohnt haben. Es ist zu hoffen, dass möglichst viele KAB-Anwender die Meinung der Bearbeiter teilen werden: Was lange währt, wird gut!
