- Abstract
- Modern education is concerned with helping children to understand society and a multi-media documentation centre in each school is a necessary teachign aid. Beginning with static book collections, documentation centres should expand into dynamic information sources containing all media and concentrating on current material. Provincial libraries will often provide this service for an egreed fee. Most centres have classified catalogues based upon the Dutch SISO classification system for public libraries. Essential to the setting up and running of a documentation centre is the goodwill and appreciation of teachinf staff who must participate in every aspect of it
