    Abstract
    Die "Liste der fachlichen Nachschlagewerke zu den Normdateien" (NSW-Liste) stellt mit ihren derzeit rund 1.660 Einträgen ein verbindliches Arbeitsinstrument für die tägliche Praxis in der kooperativen Normdatenpflege des deutsch-sprachigen Raumes, speziell für die Terminologiearbeit in der bibliothekarischen Sacherschließung dar. In jedem Normdatensatz der Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD) werden für den Nachweis und die Begründung der Ansetzungs- und Verweisungsformen eines Deskriptors im Feld "Quelle" Referenzwerke aus der so genannten Prioritätenliste (Rangfolge der Nachschlagewerke), darüber hinaus aus der gesamten NSW-Liste, festgehalten und normiert abgekürzt. In gedruckter Form erscheint sie jährlich aktuali-siert mit einem Änderungsdienst (Änderungen, Neuauflagen; Neuaufnahmen) und steht seit eini-gen Jahren auch elektronisch abrufbar bereit. Dennoch ist diese Liste "in die Jahre" ge-kommen. Vor allem die Durchnummerierung ihrer Einträge ist störend: In jeder neuen Auflage ändern sich die laufenden Nummern, während sich gleichzeitig die meisten Register gerade auf diese Zählung beziehen. - Das einzig gleichbleibende Merkmal jedes aufgelisteten Nachschlagewerks ist seine normierte Abkürzung. Deshalb haben wir uns im neuen elektronischen NSW-Tool für diese Abkürzungen als Anker entschieden. Die Entstehung dieses Tools resultiert aus einer Verkettung günstiger Umstände und hatte so gut wie keine finanzielle Basis. Es beruht auf einem starken Engagement aller Beteiligten. Aus die-sem Grund freuen wir uns ganz besonders über das erreichte Ergebnis und wagen uns nun mit einer Beta-Version an die Fachöffentlichkeit.

    Abstract
    Übergangsregeln für die Gemeinsame Normdatei (GND) sind ab sofort auf den Webseiten der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek abrufbar. Im gemeinsam mit allen Bibliotheksverbünden in Deutschland und Österreich sowie der Zeitschriftendatenbank (ZDB) durchgeführten Projekt werden die zurzeit getrennt gehaltenen überregionalen Normdateien und die Einheitssachtitel-Datei des Deutschen Musikarchivs zusammengeführt. Die nun vorgelegten Regeln für Personen, Kongresse, Körperschaften, Geografika, Werke, Schriftdenkmäler und Werke der Musik sowie Regelungen zu RSWK-spezifischen und allgemeinen Sachverhalten wurden in Abstimmung mit den Expertengruppen des Standardisierungsausschusses erarbeitet und von diesem in seiner letzten Sitzung im Oktober 2011 einstimmig angenommen. Darüber hinaus wurden die Übergangsregeln mit den bereits vorliegenden Regelungen des neuen internationalen Regelwerks Resource Description and Access (RDA) abgeglichen. Nach knapp zwei Jahren Projektlaufzeit wird die Gemeinsame Normdatei am 19. April 2012 ausgeliefert. Sie löst die bisherigen Normdateien Personennamendatei (PND), Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD) und Ge- meinsame Körperschaftsdatei (GKD) ab. Durch die Zusammenführung der bislang getrennten Normdateien wurde es notwendig, Übergangsregeln für die Gemeinsame Normdatei zu erstellen. Die auf der Grundlage der bestehenden Regelwerke RAK-WB, RAK-Musik und RSWK entwickelten Übergangsregeln betreffen vor allem Festlegungen für Sachverhalte, die in den genannten Regelwerken unterschiedlich behandelt werden.     Abstract
    Während der letzten drei Jahrzehnte sind im deutsch sprachigen Raum große überregionale Normdateien aufgebaut worden, die an der Deutschen Nationalbib liothek (DNB) in Zusammenarbeit mit den Bibliotheks verbünden und zahlreichen weiteren Institutionen ge führt und gepflegt werden. Diese bestehenden Norm dateien sind »historisch« gewachsen und aufgrund unterschiedlicher Regelwerke in voneinander diver gierenden Datenmodellen und in jeweils unterschied lichen Formaten weiterentwickelt worden, die den heutigen Anforderungen oft nicht mehr entsprechen Gleichzeitig hat sich die Nutzung und somit die Bedeutung von Normdaten in den vergangenen Jah ren deutlich verändert. Im Zuge der Vernetzung viel fältiger Ressourcen und Informationsangebote gleich welcher Anbieter haben sich die Anforderungen für Normdaten stark gewandelt. Sie können nicht länger ausschließliche Domäne der Bibliotheken sein, sollen aber trotzdem in ihrer Sichtbarkeit und Zugänglichkeit alle Anforderungen an qualitativ hochwertige und zuverlässige Daten erfüllen. Der Zugang und die Verwendung von Normdaten von anderen Kultureinrichtungen wie Archiven und Museen sind längst selbstverständlich und haben die bestehenden Normdateien auch schon in der Vergangenheit bereichert. Zunehmend bekunden jedoch auch Datenproduzenten aus anderen Wissenschaftseinrichtungen, aus Projekten und sonstigen Informationsangeboten Interesse, Normdaten in ihre Angebote einzubeziehen. Die Zusammenarbeit von Wikipedia mit der Personennamendatei (PND) ist hierfür ein gutes Beispiel. Nutzer der Online-Enzyklopädie können bereits seit geraumer Zeit über die Verlinkung mit dem Personendatensatz komfortabel auf die in der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek nachgewiesene Literatur von und über eine Person zugreifen.
