    Abstract
    Was den Aufsatz von Flachmann aber über die konkrete Ist-Analyse hinaus so interessant macht, sind seine Überlegungen zur Weiterentwicklung, zu den Desideraten und den Perspektiven. Dabei sind folgende Bereiche zu unterscheiden: 1. Verbesserungen, die das Erschließungsverfahren betreffen. 2. Verbesserte Nutzung des SWD-Potenzials für das Schlagwortkettenretrieval. 3. Bessere Nutzung des Input (= bei der RSWK-Erschließung erfassten Daten) für die Recherchierbarkeit des Output (= retrievalfähige Daten im OPAC). 4. Ausweitung der RSWK-Erschließung. Diese Punkte sollen uns im Folgenden noch näher beschäftigen, denn die Überlebensfähigkeit der RSWK und SWD hängt vor allem davon ab, welche Antworten sie auf die Herausforderungen der Zukunft geben können. Deshalb hat die "Expertengruppe RSWK-SWD" (EG RSWK-SWD) im April 2003 die "Arbeitsgruppe SWD" (AG SWD) ins Leben gerufen, die vor allem auch die Aufgabe hat, ein zukunftsfähiges Konzept zu entwerfen. Bevor aber ein zukunftsfähiges Konzept entworfen werden kann, ist zunächst eine Bestandsanalyse der Stärken und Schwächen der SWD und der RSWK erforderlich, denn vor allem hieraus lassen sich Anregungen und Prioritäten für notwendige Entwicklungsarbeiten unter dem Diktat schrumpfender Ressourcen ableiten. Diese Analyse lässt sich am besten auf der Basis eines Vergleichs der SWD / RSWK mit anderen Normdateien einschließlich der Thesaurusnorm durchführen.
