- Abstract
- Discusses the INFO2000 programme for the promotion of multimedia products on the EU. Argues that there is a need for a European Information Policy which entails cooperation between the public and private sector at the European level to meet new challenges and opportunities, particularly in the consumer sphere. The foundation of a pan-European consciousness will also become essential for protecting Europe's cultural heritage, particularly that of smaller countries
