- Abstract
- Digitale Forschungsdaten sind eine unverzichtbare Grundlage moderner Wissenschaft. Mit ihnen sind aber eine Reihe von notwendigen Datenmanagement-Aufgaben verbunden, damit sie in der aktiven Forschung bestmöglich eingesetzt werden können und die gute wissenschaftliche Praxis eingehalten wird. Wie lange sollen die Daten aufbewahrt werden? Welche Kontextinformtionen müssen erfasst werden, um die Daten zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch sinnvol benutzen zu können? Wie viel kostet die Aufbewahrung? Dieses Buch kann diese Fragen nur aufwerfen, nicht beantworten. Denn ohne auf Details der jeweiligen Disziplin, Forschungsdaten und Projekte einzugehen, lassen sich diese Fragen nicht allegemeinverbindlich klären. Was dieses Buch jedoch mit einem Leitfaden und einer Checkliste bereitstellt, ist ein einfaches Instrument für fachwissenschatliche oder Infrastruktur-Einrichtungen, um die wichtigsten Aufgaben und Fragen im Forschungsdaten-Management strukturiert beantworten und effizient planen zu können.

- Abstract
- In the information age, a common problem for employees is not lack of resources but rather how to sift through multiple resources, both electronic and interpersonal, to retrieve and locate true expert knowledge. The main objective of this study is hence to explore employees' simultaneous usage of both resources and to identify situations where employees showed a clear preference of interpersonal resources over electronic ones, and where employees found these two resources (a) (ir)replaceable and (b) complementary. Both qualitative interview data and quantitative social-network data were collected from a university-affiliated community educational office. Data analysis showed that (a) social relationships were crucial for seeking and gaining actual access to needed knowledge; (b) employees were task-driven in knowledge seeking and obtained different types of knowledge depending on availability; and (c) the choice between interpersonal and electronic resources was determined by the characteristics of the knowledge sought as well as such contextual factors as time, cost, and location. Additional interviews from other study contexts validated most of our findings, except those that require collection of complete social-network data. The article ends with a discussion on how organizations can better leverage their investment in human and technical resources to facilitate knowledge seeking.

- Abstract
- Eines der wichtigsten neuen Handlungsfelder der Forschung, das im Zuge der Digitalisierung von Information entstanden ist, ist das Management von Forschungsdaten. Die Hochschulen müssen sich darauf einstellen, ihren Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern die notwendigen Strukturen und Services zur Verfügung zu stellen. Die in der Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) organisierten Leitungen der deutschen Hochschulen sehen darin eine zentrale Aufgabe. Die Universität Münster geht mit gutem Beispiel voran: In enger Zusammenarbeit mit der Hochschulleitung hat die Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek damit begonnen, Strukturen und Services zur Unterstützung des Forschungsdatenmanagements aufzubauen.

- Abstract
- Die Fördereinrichtung Jisc unterstützte 2011 bis 2013 27 britische Universitäten, Forschungsdatenmanagement-(RDM)-Services einzuführen oder auszubauen. Orientierung boten dabei die umfangreichen Materialien und Tools des Digital Curation Centers (DDC), die den gesamten Lebenszyklus der Daten bedienen. Auch die Struktur des vorliegenden Artikels folgt diesem Zyklus, um den State of the Art des RDM darzulegen, wie er von sechs näher zu beschreibenden Jisc-Projekten realisiert wurde. Ziel der Analyse war, anhand dieser Beispiele zu eruieren, welche Aufgaben von Bibliotheken übernommen werden. In erster Linie sind dies die Leitung des RDM-Services und die Durchführung von Trainingsmaßnahmen. Auch Repositorien und Metadaten werden meist hier gepflegt, wobei dies ebenso wie die Projektleitung und Bedarfsanalyse häufigauch an der IT angesiedelt ist. Die Policy-Entwicklung findet als weitere wichtige Bibliotheksaufgabe oft in Kooperation mit dem Forschungsservice statt, dem fast immer das Data Management Planning (DMP) obliegt.

- Abstract
- A new conception of knowledge and knowledge dynamics is introduced. lt provides a three-dimensional model of knowledge with types, kinds and qualities. Built on this knowledge conception knowledge dynamics is modeled with the help of general knowledge conversions between knowledge assets. Here knowledge dynamics is understood to cover all of acquisition, conversion, transfer development and usage of knowledge. Through this conception we gain a sound basis for knowledge management and development in an enterprise. Especially the type dimension of knowledge, which categorizes it according to its internality and externality with respect to the human being, is crucial knowledge management, because knowledge should be made available by converting it to more external types. Several areas of applicability for this conception are discussed. First a approach to knowledge-intensive business processes in an enterprise is described, be it human-driven, knowledge-driven or task-driven processes. As an example for this approach, a model of the creative activity for the renewal planning of a product is given. Second, from a more company-wide company-wide and resource- oriented perspective, the various knowledge transformations between the different intellectual capital domains of an enterprise can be modeled with this approach. Other areas of applicability of the new conception are shortly addressed and include educational and organisational psychology.

- Im Januar 2014 wurde in Österreich das dreijährige vom Bundesministerium für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Wirtschaft (BMWFW) geförderte Partnerprojekt e-Infrastructures Austria initiiert, das den koordinierten Ausbau von digitalen Archiven, die Weiterentwicklung von Services und den Aufbau eines Wissensnetzwerks für die Bereitstellung, Verbreitung und sichere Archivierung von elektronischen Publikationen, Multimedia-Objekten und anderen Daten aus Forschung und Lehre verfolgt. An den 20 teilnehmenden Universitäten und fünf weiteren Forschungseinrichtungen geht es nicht nur darum, die technische Infrastruktur bereitzustellen, sondern vor allem auch um ein strategisches Konzept für das zukünftige Forschungsdatenmanagement in Österreich. Dabei wird auf die Möglichkeiten und Herausforderungen Bezug genommen, die sich durch den Umgang mit digitalen Objekten und sich ständig erweiternde Anwendungsbereiche ergeben. Heute sind innovative Formen der Nachnutzung gefragt, postuliert durch den Open Access-Gedanken und das Konzept einer kooperativen, offenen Wissenschaft. Bei der langfristigen strategischen Planung von Repositorien gilt es, Interoperabilität, eine laufende Erweiterung der Systeme, Organisation und Management zu beachten. Eine Grundvoraussetzung dafür, dass Daten langfristig auffindbar, verständlich und nachnutzbar bleiben, ist die Wahrung der Rechtssicherheit. Alle wissenschaftlichen Einrichtungen sollten für die Schaffung eines gemeinsamen Rechtsraums sorgen. Dieser kann durch die Einführung von geeigneten Policies und Datenmanagementplänen begleitet werden. e-Infrastructures Austria involviert mit der verfolgten Projektstruktur unterschiedliche Stakeholder (Bibliotheken, lokale IT-Dienstleister, Wissenschafter, Beschäftigte aus juristischen Abteilungen, institutionelle und nationale Forschungsförderungsbüros). Dadurch sollten spezifische Rollen und Verantwortlichkeiten in den Prozessen des digitalen Workflows wahrgenommen werden.
