    Abstract
The British Library Online Catalogue is one of the main systems to be implemented before the British Library's move to St Pancras and is already installed in the Aldwych, Holborn and Bloomsbury reading rooms. It is intended to be a replacement for the manual catalogues and has been built in a modular manner enabling the easy replacement of old parts and additiion of new ones. Describes the basic design requirements for the catalogue, catalogues currently available in the system and those to be added shortly, and links to the Reader Admissions System and the Automated Book Requesting System. Discusses the 3 principal design components and proposes links to JANET
