    Abstract
    Cataloguing is the formal process by which books are encoded for later access, influenced by the technology employed, and the professional culture aurrounding the event. There are problems with this approach in that it conventionalizes the contents of books into only aspects that have been previously defined and categorized. Library access tools may need to be modified to draw a balance between user friendliness and catalogue integrity
