- Abstract
- In dem Maße, in dem Unternehmen ihren Erfolg in einem zunehmend von Konkurrenz geprägten Weltmarkt suchen, ist ds Content Management als Informationslösung interessant geworden. Content Management-Systeme können dabei helfen, die enormen betrieblichen Investitionen in die Information zu verringern. Wie bei jeder neuartigen Technologie bestehen auch hier noch keine klaren Vorstellungen darüber, was ContentnManagement eigentlich ausmacht. In diesem Beitrag werden die Probleme und Technologien im Zusammenhang mit dem Content Management untersucht und der aktuelle Stand in Sachen Content Management beschrieben. Content Management ist mehr als nur eine neue Technologie. Im Kern erlaubt Content Management Unternehmen, Informationen zum aufbau intensiverer Beziehungen entlang der Wertschöpfungskette aufzubauen, wobei Kunden, Vertriebspartner, Zulieferer und Hersteller verbunden werden

- Abstract
- Der Begriff Information Management taucht in der Literatur schon seit etwa 10 Jahren auf. Über seine Umschreibung bzw. Definition herrscht heute noch Uneinigkeit, weil durch die rasche technische Entwicklung bedingt eine klare Festschreibung nicht möglich ist. Trotzdem zeigt der evolutionäre Ausbau der Informationsverarbeitung generell eine Tendenz hin zum Information Management. Denn die durch die stetige Weiterentwicklung der elektronische Mittel immer komplexer werdende Welt der Information und Kommunikation verlangt ein übergeordnetes Konzept zur Bewältigung der mannigfachen Anforderungen, die an die Aufbereitung und den Transport der Information gestellt werden. Der Autor hat versucht, aus dem Stoff von 11 willkürlich ausgewählten Arbeiten aus der einschlägigien Literatur ein Bild des Information Management zu zeichnen

- Abstract
- Library world is actually facing 2 major changes. The one described by the concept of the Digital or Virtual Library let us already anticipate fundamental changes in the products and services libraries will deliver in the future. At present libraries also must react to important economic changes with phenomena like privatisation, deregulation and globalisation of economic processes which - at least in Germany - have now a growing impact on the library and information business. This situation is a real challenge for library management. But unfortunately new management concepts are hardly found in library literature and practice in Germany. Therefore the article wants to give to the library world some ideas on new management and business concepts like the 'learning organisation' or the 'innovative collaborator'

- Abstract
- Die September/Oktober-Ausgabe 2009 der IWP ist eine Schwerpunktausgabe zum Records Management. Es ist interessant, dass einmal aus fachlich ganz anderer Perspektive auf diese Management- Disziplin geschaut wird. Viele Aspekte werden angesprochen: Terminologie, Rolle des Archivwesens, Interdisziplinarität, Langzeitaufbewahrung und Standardisierung. Im Artikel "Wissensorganisation und Records Management. Was ist der 'state of the art'?" steht die Wissensorganisation als Schwachstelle des Records Management zentral. Dies zu Recht: Das logische Datenmodell von DOMEA - das Gleiche gilt für GEVER und ELAK - entspricht beispielsweise nicht in allen Hinsichten der Geschäftsrealität. Daraus entstehen für die Mitarbeitenden im Arbeitsalltag öfters mehr Verständnisprobleme als sie bewältigen können oder wollen. Die systemische Unterstützung der eingesetzten EDRMS (nicht alle Produkte verdienen übrigens diesen Namen) wird dadurch geschwächt. Die Wissensorganisation genügt in vielen Fällen (noch) nicht. Das Problem liegt allerdings weniger bei der Klassifikation (Aktenplan), wie Ulrike Spree meint. Auch hier kommen Anomalien vor. Ein Ordnungssystem im Records Management umfasst mehr als nur die Klassifikation. Zudem dürfen die prinzipiellen, inhärenten Unterschiede zwischen Records Management einerseits und Wissens- und Informationsmanagement andererseits nicht vergessen gehen. Nicht die Klassifikation ist beim Records Management das zentrale Werkzeug der Informationsrepräsentation und -organisation, sondern die saubere Dossierbildung und die stringente, strukturstabile Umsetzung davon im Datenmodell. Hierauf geht die Autorin nicht ein. Ich werde aus dieser Sicht auf ihren Beitrag in der Schwerpunktausgabe reagieren.

- Abstract
- Informationsmanagement ist Management- wie Technikdisziplin und gilt als Teil der Unternehmensführung. Die Notwendigkeitvon Medienunternehmen, einem qualifizierten Informationsmanagement nachzukommen, gründet vor allem auf jüngsten Entwicklungen im sozialen, wirtschaftlichen und technischen Bereich. Eine landesweite Analyse aus Expertengesprächen mit Geschäftsführern und Technischen Leitern in österreichischen Medienunternehmen brachte folgende Ergebnisse: Medienunternehmen betreiben ein auf mehrere Abteilungen verteiltes, sog. funktionales Informationsmanagement. Die Institutionalisierung in Form eines Informationsmanagers oder einer IM-Abteilung wird von der Unternehmensgröße, entsprechenden Bewerbern oder auch der Finanzierung abhängig gemacht. In einem Branchenvergleich von Medienunternehmen mit Banken und Versicherungen ergaben sich in Bezug auf das Informationsmanagement viele Übereinstimmungen; allerdings übersteigt bei Medienunternehmen die Bedeutung der Informations- und Kommunikationssysteme eindeutig den Stellenwert der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik. In einem Ausblick wird Medienunternehmen die Schaffung eines Informationsmanagers empfohlen.
