- Abstract
- The Norwegian Dewey is a shortened version of the 19th ed, Changes are now so comprehensive that a new Norwegian ed. is necessary. The Norwegian Dewey is widely used in public and school libraries. While the large special libraries use the English version, they supplement it with the Norwegian edition and use it as a source of subject headings. A seminar held in April 1997 in Oslo discussed the issue and agreed on the need for a new Norwegian edition. The National Library should in future have editorial responsibility, but the next publication, expected in 1999, will be the Norwegian Library Association's task
