    Abstract
OCLC's Internet Resources Project investigated the nature of electronic textual information available through remote Internet access, focusing on the practical and theoretical problems associated with creating MARC records. Details the project methods and results. The findings reveal aspects of electronic information objects available via the Internet, provide a taxonomy of the file types available via FTP, and a substantive body of data on the suitability of conventional methods for providing bibliographic description and access for Internet information objects. Makes recommendations for cataloguing Internet resources

    Abstract
This paper reviews issues related to the cataloging of Internet resources and considers shortand long-term directions for cataloging and the general provision of library services for remotely accessible, electronic information resources. The strengths and weakness of using a library catalog model to improve access to Internet resources are discussed and compared with a review of related efforts. Based on experience gained through two OCLC Internet cataloging projects, the authors recommend continued and vigorous appplication of library cataloging standards and methods for Internet resources with the expectation that catalogs, cataloging, and libraries in general will continue to evolve.

    Abstract
Presents results of the OCLC Internet Resource Project, which focused on 2 areas of enquiry: investigating the nature of electronic textual information available through remote access using the Internet; and the practical and theoretical problems associated with creating MARC records for these objects using current US-MARC format for computer files and AACR2R

    Abstract
Two measures are examined that characterize the dispersion of a classification system when mapped to a second classification. One, a distance measure, captures the physical spread of a class when represented in the secon system; the second, from rank-frequency-analysis, characterizes the scatter of tokens over a set of types. The measures are tested by applying them to the library science portions of the LCC and the DDC using a database drawn from MARC records. Class mappings are presented that exemplify four extreme points of the two measures considered together: mappings where both measures score high, mappings where both score low, and mappings where one measure is high and the other is low. The conclusion is that the measures characterize two different properties of dispersion
