    Abstract
    Open Access Repositorien sind Online-Archive für frei im Internet zugängliche Publikationen im Volltext. Open Access Materialien oder die Open Access Repositorien selbst sind allerdings nur unzureichend in zentrale Fachportale (z.B. virtuelle Fachbibliotheken) eingebunden. Der Beitrag stellt SSOAR - Social Science Open Access Repository, einen disziplinären Open Access Volltextserver für die Sozialwissenschaften vor und zeigt wie dieser in das sozialwissenschaftliche Fachportal Sowiport integriert wird.

    Abstract
    Das Internet verändert die Rahmenbedingungen des wissenschaftlichen Publikationswesens einschneidend. Wissenschaftliche Dokumente sind zunehmend elektronisch verfügbar und beginnen, die klassischen Wissenschaftsmedien wie Fachbücher und Fachzeitschriften zu verdrängen. Die Implementierung eines elektronischen Publikationsprozesses ist Voraussetzung für die erfolgreiche Verbreitung wissenschaftlicher Dokumente per Internet. Die Umsetzung setzt jedoch die Einhaltung bestimmter Vorgaben und Regularien voraus, sonst drohen Inkompatibilitäten zwischen den Systemen. Im Kontext von Urheberrechtsnovellierung und Open Access-Bewegung erläutert dieser Beitrag technische und rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen von Online-Publikationen und stellt Projekte und Initiativen vor, die sich auf dem Feld des wissenschaftlichen Publikationswesens betätigen. Ausführlich wurden Problembereiche des aktuellen Publikationsprozesses von Abschlussarbeiten im Studiengang Internationales Informationsmanagement an der Universität Hildesheim mit Hilfe von Interviews untersucht. Auf Grundlage der Zustandsanalyse wurde anschließend der elekronische Publikationsprozess modelliert.

    Abstract
    cibera - die Virtuelle Fachbibliothek Ibero-Amerika / Spanien / Portugal - bildet nun bereits seit einem Jahr einen zentralen Einstiegspunkt für die InternetRecherche nach Fachinformationen zum spanischen und portugiesischen Sprach- und Kulturraum. Ein guter Zeitpunkt, um das Projekt ausführlich vorzustellen, eine erste Bilanz zu ziehen und einen Ausblick auf geplante Entwicklungen zu geben. cibera ist eines von zzt. 40 DFG- sowie BMBF-finanzierten Fachportalen (davon sind zzt. 35 online), die gemeinsam das interdisziplinäre wissenschaftliche Informationssystem vascoda bilden, eine Suchmaschine für die Fachwissenschaften (www.vascoda.de). Die einzelnen Virtuellen Fachbibliotheken ähneln einander im Aufbau und haben das gleiche Ziel: Sie sollen wissenschaftliche Information für ihre Disziplin bündeln, nachweisen, übersichtlich anbieten und mit Zugriff auf elektronische Volltexte, Dokumentenlieferdienste und Pay-perview-Optionen den Nutzern möglichst leicht zugänglich machen. Die Anzahl von Fachportalen im vascoda-Verbund wächst beständig, perspektivisch sollen alle Fachgebiete abgedeckt werden. Die ersten Virtuellen Fachbibliotheken sind bereits seit Jahren online, andere sind gerade erst in der Planung. Da die Technologie sich rasant weiterentwickelt und die Erwartungen der Nutzer an elektronische Informationssysteme sich ebenso rasant steigern, unterscheiden sich die einzelnen Fachportale trotz der vergleichbaren Zielsetzung in Realisierung und verwendeter Technik doch zum Teil bereits erheblich voneinander. cibera konnte bei der Konzeption und insbesondere bei der technischen Umsetzung bereits auf die Erfahrungen verschiedener anderer Portale zurückgreifen und sich an den neuesten im Rahmen von vascoda erarbeiteten Standards orientieren.

    Abstract
    Nun ist es heraus: Unter dem Namen "GOPORTIS" wird zukünftig die Kooperation der drei Deutschen Zentralen Fachbibliotheken (ZFB), zu denen die Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB), die Zentralbibliothek für Medizin (ZB MED) sowie die Zentralbibliothek für Wirtschaftswissenschaften (ZBW) gehören, vorangetrieben. GOPORTIS löst somit den bisherigen Arbeitstitel "Esplanade" ab. Der Name GOPORTIS wurde von einer Namensagentur kreiert. Er lässt verschiedene Assoziationen zu - Port wie Tür, Portal oder Hafen. "Das Go am Anfang suggeriert Aktivität und hat Aufforderungscharakter: Geh' zum Portal und hol' Dir Wissen", so Ulrich Korwitz, Direktor der ZB MED. Betont wird der Wortbeginn auch graphisch. Das Design zum Schriftzug schlägt einen Bogen von den Schmuckelementen, die die drei Institutionen symbolisieren, über das GO. "Das von einer Werbeagentur erarbeitete Coporate Design zeigt eine gelungene Farbkomposition, die sehr harmonisch wirkt und sich von den bestehenden Farbgebungen der Partner bewusst abhebt", erklärt Horst Thomsen, Direktor der ZBW. Und Uwe Rosemann ergänzt (TIB): "Wir sind sehr zufrieden. Der Name samt Claim "Eine Quelle. Alles Wissen" im Rahmen der gefundenen Corporate Identity hat das Potential, unsere gemeinsamen Strategien und Ziele für die Zukunft zu verwirklichen." Und die Ziele sind ambitioniert: Noch in diesem Jahr soll ein neues gemeinsames Portal für die Bestellung wissenschaftlicher Dokumente online gehen - ein viel geäußerter Wunsch der Kunden. Zukünftig können dann die Fachgebiete Technik, Naturwissenschaften, Medizin, Ernährung, Umwelt, Agrarwissenschaften und Wirtschaft aus einer Hand bedient werden. An der Implementierung des Portals wird bereits unter Hochdruck gearbeitet. Jede Bibliothek bringt Ihre Stärken und Kompetenzen mit vorhandenen Systemen wie TIBORDER, MedPilot und ECONIS ein. Das GOPORTIS-Portal soll erstmals auf der Online Information Conference im Dezember in London vorgestellt werden. In 2008 werden dann neben dem operativen Betrieb des Portals und des Bestelldienstes die Weiterentwicklung der gemeinsamen Dienstleistungen und das weitere Zusammenwachsen der Partner im Vordergrund stehen.

    Abstract
    This article presents an exploratory study of Blobgects, an experimental interface for an online museum catalog that enables social tagging and blogging activity around a set of cultural heritage objects held by a preeminent museum of anthropology and archaeology. This study attempts to understand not just whether social tagging and commenting about these objects is useful but rather whose tags and voices matter in presenting different expert perspectives around digital museum objects. Based on an empirical comparison between two different user groups (Canadian Inuit high-school students and museum studies students in the United States), we found that merely adding the ability to tag and comment to the museum's catalog does not sufficiently allow users to learn about or engage with the objects represented by catalog entries. Rather, the specialist language of the catalog provides too little contextualization for users to enter into the sort of dialog that proponents of Web 2.0 technologies promise. Overall, we propose a more nuanced application of Web 2.0 technologies within museums - one which provides a contextual basis that gives users a starting point for engagement and permits users to make sense of objects in relation to their own needs, uses, and understandings.
