    Abstract
    "Die beiden Verfasser stellen die wechselvolle Geschichte der ersten mit Erscheinungsjahr 1930 beginnenden und 1944 vollständig zerstörten Schlagwortkataloges und des nach 1945 neu begonnenen und Ende 1989 zugunsten der Schlagwortkatalogisierung im Verbund abgebrochenen Kataloges dar. Akribisches Aktenstudium mit zahlreichen Quellenhinweisen, Bezug auf die jeweilige zeitgenössische Sachkatalogdiskussion und ide Einbeziehung der Aussagen von Zeitzeugen ergeben ein lebendiges Bild von der Entwicklung dieses Sachkataloges und dem Einfluß und der Arbeit der beteiligten Bibliothekare einschließlich der Entscheidungen Hartwig Lohses. Ein sehr lesenswerter Aufsatz, der auch einen Eindruck von der lebhaften Diskussion innerhalb des höheren Bibliotheksdienstes über geeignete Wege der Sachkatalogisierung vermittelt" (D. Stäglich)
