Abstract: Vor zehn Jahren ging die EROMM-Datenbank online. Begonnen hatte diese europäische Gemeinschaftsinitiative als Bibliotheksprojekt der EU mit dem Ziel, einen zentralen Nachweis von Sicherheitsverfilmungen aufzubauen. Seitdem hat EROMM sich zu dem internationalen Nachweis- und Koordinationsinstrument für Bestandssicherung auf Sekundärmedien entwickelt. Heute enthält die Datenbank die bibliographischen Daten für mehr als 2,5 Millionen Mikroformmaster und digitale Master, die aus Ländern in Europa, Nord- und Lateinamerika gemeldet werden.

Abstract

Elektronische Zeitschriften bilden den Hauptanteil des Gesamtangebots an elektronischen Publikationen im Internet. Die elektronische Form bietet viele Vorteile. Elektronisches Titelmaterial kann leicht erfasst, in Datenbanken gesammelt und nach allen möglichen Kriterien durchsucht werden. Die Hyperlinktechnik erlaubt außerdem, Verbindungen zu anderen Datenbanken und zu den Volltexten herzustellen. Die Verzeichnisse elektronischer Zeitschriften zählen zu den wichtigsten und vor allem frei zugänglichen wissenschaftlichen Internetquellen. Sie werden von Verlagen, wissenschaftlichen Gesellschaften, verlagsübergreifenden Agenturen und Bibliotheken zur Einsicht angeboten. Sehr umfangreich sind die Verzeichnisse der grossen Verlage Elsevier, Springer und Wiley, noch umfassender die Master Journal List von Thomson-Reuters und die Journal List von EBSCO. Das umfassendste Verzeichnis überhaupt enthält die Elekronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek Regensburg (EZB), die einen Gesamtbestand von ca. 55000 Titeln verwaltet. In welcher Weise soll eine solche Zeitschriftendatenbank durchsucht werden? Zunächst wohl nach den in den Zeitschriftentiteln enthaltenen Wörtern, was am ehesten einer gezielten Suche nach einem bestimmten Titel entspricht. Eine nichtgezielte Suche nach noch unbekannten Titeln würde dagegen meist ins Leere gehen. So entsteht das Bedürfnis das Titelmaterial sachlich zu erschliessen. Das geschieht bei der EZB durch eine Aufteilung nach grösseren Fachgebieten. Bei Thomson-Reuters durch eine Aufteilung der Fachgebiete in engere Themengruppen. Noch stärker sind die von ExLibris mittels SFX herausgegebenen, in den USA und weltweit sehr verbreiteten Anzeigesysteme thematisch aufgegliedert.

Abstract

Vor dem Umzug der Bibliothek des ehemaligen Fachbereiches Bibliothek und Information zum Berliner Tor in dort räumlich engere Verhältnisse wurden ohne Absprache alle Arbeiten vor 1991 vernichtet, und auch der Umzug des inzwischen geordneten Prüfungsarchivs zum Berliner Tor war anfangs nicht sicher. Für den bevorstehenden, erneuten Umzug an die Wartenau ist bisher nicht bekannt, ob der hier beschriebene Bestand überleben wird. Ohnehin werden nach Einführung des Bachelor- / Master-Studiums ab WS 2005/2006 nur noch die wenigen Masterarbeiten inhaltlich von Interesse und den Diplomarbeiten vergleichbar sein. Zusammen mit der sukzessiven Neuordnung des Prüfungsarchives dieser Jahres-, Haus- und Diplomarbeiten entstand eine Datenbank von rund 4.600 Datensätzen, die für den Zeitraum von 1947 bis 2005 insgesamt 4.550 tatsächlich erhaltene Arbeiten erfaßt. Die Ordnung von Archiv- und verbliebenem Bibliotheksbestand ist identisch. Alle 3.600 Exemplare des Prüfungsarchivs, deren Zweitstücke nicht ( bzw. nicht mehr ) in der Bibliothek des Berliner Tors vorhanden sind, sind als staatliche Prüfungs- bzw. Examensarbeiten nicht einsehbar und folglich im Alphabetischen Teil durch den Zusatz »Prüfungsarchiv« gekennzeichnet. Mit Recht läßt sich einwenden, warum nicht eine den Gesamtbestand online recherchierbare Lösung "als Vermächtnis" entwickelt wurde, statt der hier vorliegenden langweiligen Liste: Eine vom Kollegen Klaus F. Lorenzen entwickelte Allegro-Datenbank war bis zum Ende 2004 im Internet online zugänglich, wurde aber durch Hacking zerstört, und für ihre weitere Pflege gab es über 2005 hinaus keine Perspektive.
