    Abstract
    Im Vergleich mit der konventionellen Bibliothek stellt der Autor schrittweise die Recherchemöglichkeiten in der virtuellen Bibliothek Internet vor. Dabei werden detailliert Methoden und Strategien zur Informationsgewinnung zunächst beschrieben und anschließend mit Anwendungsaufgaben eingeübt. Die wichtigsten so vorgestellten Bereiche: Kataloge und Suchmaschinen, Diskussionforen, elektronische Nachschlagewerke. Auf die PC-gerechte Weiterverarbeitung der aus dem Internet gewonnenen Daten ('gepackte' Dateien, Texte, Filme, Bilder, Tondokumente) wird ebenfalls eingegangen. Ein Register verzeichnet thematisch geordnet Internet-Adressen für die tägliche Arbeit. Das Buch ist auch hervorragend für die bibliotheksinterne Internet-Schulung geeignet
