Abstract

Die SfB ist eine Aufstellungssystematik, die aus 31 Fachgebieten und mehreren Formal- und Sachschlüsseln besteht. Gerade wegen der differenzierten Gliederung von Bibliotheksbeständen sowie dem Bestreben der Bibliotheken, Klassen zu reduzieren, ist die SfB für die sachliche Aufstellung von kleinen bis sehr großen Bibliotheksbeständen geeignet. Die SfB wurde ursprünglich auf der Grundlage der hannoverschen Systematik (SSH) erarbeitet und zwischen 1978 und 1987 vom K.G.Saur-Verlag erstmals publiziert. Neben der ASB findet die SfB Anwendung in 40 öffentlichen und wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken. Die jetzt vorliegende Überarbeitung berücksichtigt fachlich neue Entwicklungen und richtet sich terminologisch soweit wie möglich nach dem Vokabular der Schlagwortnormdatei. Der Buchausgabe der SfB liegt eine maschinenlesbare Version auf 3,5"-Diskette bei. Eine regelmäßige Aktualisierung ist vorgesehen

Abstract

The German subject headings authority file (Schlagwortnormdatei/SWD) provides a broad controlled vocabulary for indexing documents of all subjects. Traditionally used for intellectual subject cataloguing primarily of books the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (DNB, German National Library) has been working on developping and implementing procedures for automated assignment of subject headings for online publications. This project, its results and problems are sketched in the paper.

Abstract

CrissCross ist der Name eines von der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek und der Fachhochschule Köln gemeinsam betriebenen und von der DFG geförderten Projekts, dessen Ziel es ist, durch die Verbindung von klassifikatorischen und verbalen Erschließungsinstrumenten ein benutzergerechtes Recherchevokabular zu schaffen, um die Suche in heterogen erschlossenen Bibliotheksbeständen zu erleichtern. Im Rahmen des Projektes werden die Sachschlagwörter der Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD) mit den Notationen der Dewey-Dezimalklassifikation (DDC) verbunden. Auf diese Weise entsteht ein dichtes Beziehungsnetz zwischen der weltweit verbreitetsten Klassifikation und der im deutschen Sprachgebiet dominierenden Dokumentationssprache. Der Vortrag gibt einen Überblick über die Vorgehensweise bei der Verknüpfung von DDC-Klassen und SWD-Sachschlagwörtern und zeigt Pespektiven auf, die sich aus der Vernetzung ergeben.

Abstract

Die 1998 erschienene 3. Auflage der Regeln für den Schlagwortkatalog (RSWK) vollzieht noch wesentlich stärker als ihre Vorgänger die Orientierung an den Bedürfnissen der Online-Kataloge. Die Ergänzungslieferungen (2000, 2002, 2005, 2007), deren vierte im März dieses Jahres erschienen ist, haben diesem Prinzip weiter Rechnung getragen und sind gekennzeichnet durch ihr Bemühen, die Regeln zu vereinfachen und sie so auch über den traditionellen bibliothekarischen Bereich hinaus nutzbar zu machen. Eine besondere Rolle nimmt dabei die Schlagwortnormdatei (SWD) ein. Die über die Jahre erfolgten Änderungen der RSWK haben die SWD aus ihrer ursprünglichen Umgebung gelöst und sie zu einer Dokumentationssprache gemacht, die als Universalthesaurus nun auch außerhalb der bibliothekarischen Welt genutzt wird. Die Weiterentwicklung sowohl der RSWK als auch der SWD konnte nur dank der Unterstützung durch die Bibliotheksverbünde und der Mitwirkung zahlreicher Kolleginnen und Kollegen aus den Bibliotheken, Museen und Archiven des deutschsprachigen Raums verwirklicht werden. In den vergangenen Jahren wurde von der bibliothekarischen Öffentlichkeit wiederholt der Wunsch nach einer elektronischen Ausgabe der RSWK vorgetragen. Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek stellt diese nunmehr kostenfrei auf ihren Webseiten zur Verfügung. Die elektronische Ausgabe befindet sich auf dem Stand der 3. Auflage 1998 einschließlich der 4.
