- Abstract
- Nicht alles, was zählt, kann gezählt werden, und nicht alles, was gezählt werden kann, zählt. Mit dieser Einsteinschen Erkenntnis beginnt Alexander Schuster seine umfassende Studie zum Thema Wissensbilanzierung, also der Methode, Potenzial und Effizienz von Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern eines Unternehmens oder einer Organisation zu beziffern, um im Bewusstsein dieser fundamentalen Ressource strategisches Planen und Handeln zu ermöglichen. Der Autor erliegt nicht der Gefahr, ein neues Managementinstrument enthusiastisch als Garanten für wirtschaftliche Rentabilität zu bewerben. Ziel der ausgezeichneten Studie ist vielmehr, Wissensbilanzierung als eine der bedeutendsten Aufgaben des Qualitätsmanagements zu definieren. Dabei werden Chancen und Risiken der komplexen und hochdifferenzierten Bilanzierungsprozesse analysiert. Ein standardisiertes Modell zur Darstellung und Bewertung, Steuerung und Entwicklung des so genannten intellektuellen Kapitals kann es nicht geben. Die Studie zeichnet sich vielmehr durch ihre reflektierte, konstruktive Abwägung der Machbarkeit, Wissen pekuniär zu bewerten, aus. Der Autor stellt überzeugende Praxisbeispiele vor und entwirft auf dieser Grundlage einen umfassenden Prototypen, der bei der Realisierung von Wissensbilanzen in der Praxis modifiziert werden kann. Er setzt dabei auch einen hervorragenden Standard für die Anwendung der Wissensbilanz in Bibliotheken.
