    Mit Hilfe eines generativen Modells der Begriffe der Gegenstände sollten alle wahrscheinlichen und 'unwahrscheinlichen' atomaren Gegnstände der Natur und Gesellschaft bzw. der praktischen Handlung und der theoretischen Überlegung feststellbar und die molekularen Gegenstände ableitbar sein.     Abstract
    The index to the second edition of The Canadian Encyclopedia was prepared on an IBM PC-XT personal computer using the IBM Professional Editor, custom programs written in IBM Pascal, and TeX a high quality typesetting program developed by Donald E. Knuth of Stanford University in California. The entries were chosen and keyed in by the indexer, and then alphabetized, formatted, and typeset by the computer. An unusual data entry format together with good typesetting software made possible the delivery to the printer of the 372 page camera ready index less than two weeks after the indexer received the final pages of text. TeX provides fully automatic pagination.

    Abstract
    Die Relevanzproblematik gehört zu den Schlüsselthemen der Theorie und Praxis der Information-Retrieval-Systeme. Ausgehend vom probabilistischen Relevanzbegriff wird versucht, die verschiedenen Relevanzauffassungen (d.h. Relevanzgrad, Relevanzwahrscheinlichkeit bzw. Pertinenzbewertung) in ein gemeinsames Schema einzuordnen. Dabei wird auf die verschiedenen Arten der Relevanzbeurteilungen, die die Basis für die unterschiedlichen Relevanzauffassungen bilden, sowie auf die Bedeutung des Relevanzbegriffs in sog. wissensbasierten Systemen kurz eingegangen. Als die geeignete Vorgehensweise, die die verschiedenen Relevanzauffassungen zu vereinigen ermöglicht, wird eine interaktive Relevanzfeedback-Strategie betrachtet

    Abstract

    Abstract
    Das menschliche Wissen ist kein inkohärentes Flickwerk, sondern vielmehr ein wohlstrukturiertes System. Dies ist das Resultat einer ausgedehnten holistischen Untersuchung der Allgemeinsprache. Aufgrund der zwei grundlegenden semantischen Relationen, Ähnlichkeit und Voraussetzung, gelingt es, die sprachlich zentralste Ausdrucksklasse, die Verben so zu gruppieren, daß ein semantischer Raum gefunden werden kann, der etwa 1.300 Kategorien und etwa 45 Großkategorien (Modelle) umfaßt. Er erweist sich als grundlegend für eine ganze Reihe von sprachlichen Phänomenen des Syntax (Valenz und grammatische Konstruktionen), der Semantik (Bedeutungsanalyse von Nomina) und der Pragmatik (Kontextanalyse). Darüber hinaus ist er aber auch maßgebend für die inhaltliche und sachbezogene Ebene. Er strukturiert das gesamte menschliche Wissen und zu einem ganz beträchtlichen Teil auch die (naive?) Theoriebildung
