- Abstract
- Das World Wide Web ist als weltweites Informations- und Kommunikationsmedium etabliert. Neue Technologien erweitern regelmäßig die Nutzungsformen und erlauben es auch unerfahrenen Nutzern, Inhalte zu publizieren oder an Diskussionen teilzunehmen. Daher wird das Web auch als eine gute Dokumentation der heutigen Gesellschaft angesehen. Aufgrund seiner Dynamik sind die Inhalte des Web vergänglich und neue Technologien und Nutzungsformen stellen regelmäßig neue Herausforderungen an die Sammlung von Webinhalten für die Webarchivierung. Dominierten in den Anfangstagen der Webarchivierung noch statische Seiten, so hat man es heute häufig mit dynamisch generierten Inhalten zu tun, die Informationen aus verschiedenen Quellen integrieren. Neben dem klassischen domainorientieren Webharvesting kann auch ein steigendes Interesse aus verschiedenen Forschungsdisziplinen an thematischen Webkollektionen und deren Nutzung und Exploration beobachtet werden. In diesem Artikel werden einige Herausforderungen und Lösungsansätze für die Sammlung von thematischen und dynamischen Inhalten aus dem Web und den sozialen Medien vorgestellt. Des Weiteren werden aktuelle Probleme der wissenschaftlichen Nutzung diskutiert und gezeigt, wie Webarchive und andere temporale Kollektionen besser durchsucht werden können.

- Abstract
- Der Bericht bietet einen Überblick und eine vorläufige Einschätzung der Entwicklungen auf dem Gebiet des elektronischen Publizierens. Es werden Initiativen und Unternehmungen vorgestellt, die sich in die Aktionsfelder "neues Geschäftsmodell", "Selbstorganisation der Wissenschaften", "neue Kooperationsformen" und "Kostensenkung durch Wettbewerb" differenzieren lassen. Darüber hinaus werden neue Modelle für die Begutachtung (peer review) wissenschaftlicher Publikationen beschrieben.

- Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt das klassische Handbuch und elektronische Publikationen gegenüber, um darüber nachzudenken, was das traditionelle Handbuch an Funktionalität bereithält und wie diese auf ein elektronisches Medium (Computer und Bildschirm) übertragbar ist. - Abstract
- In der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek wird seit über 100 Jahren neu erscheinende Literatur zu den Beständen der Handschriftenabteilung dokumentiert, 2002 wurde dieses interne Findmittel in eine SISIS-Datenbank überführt und damit überregional zugänglich. In den letzten drei Jahren trat neben die systematische Durchsicht von neuerworbenen Printmedien (Monographien und Zeitschriften) nun die retrospektive Auswertung von elektronischen Fachzeitschriften, online verfügbaren und von der Bibliothek lizenzierten Lexika bzw. Bibliographien sowie frei zugänglichen Internet-Ressourcen. Mit dieser zukunftsweisenden Neuerung gelang es, die Zahl der bibliographischen Nachweise um rund ein Viertel zu steigern. Die vielfältigen Möglichkeiten der kontextsensitiven Verlinkung werden die Wahrnehmung und Bedeutung der Forschungsdokumentation künftig noch weiter erhöhen.

- Abstract
- Das Buch gibt eine umfassende Darstellung der Möglichkeiten und Probleme des elektronischen Publizierens in der wissenschaftlichen Kommunikation. Ausgehend von der gegenwärtigen Situation wird die Notwendigkeit neuer elektronischer Publikationsformen dargelegt. Durch die Einbeziehung praktischer Erfahrungen bei der Erstellung einer elektronischen Zeitschrift wird eine enge Verknüpfung von Theorie und Praxis des elektronischen Publizierens hergestellt.
