- Abstract
- The survey took place in the year of 1990. 16 librarians and information scientists took part from 10 different departments of Oulu University Library. 581 titles were tested, 70% in English and the rest in Swedish, German and Finnish. The reason for the survey was to find out whether it would be worth using a Finnish indexing system alongside UDC. As an average it takes 6 minutes to familiarize with an item and another 6 minutes to classify and catalogue it. The results are compared with other similar projects in Finland and abroad
