    Abstract
    The 1993 thesaurus has been substantially revised and updated with 343 new preferred terms and 489 new lead-in terms, while 76 terms have been replaced or deleted. The total number of preferred terms is now 6.458, and the number of lead-ins is 7.151. The INSPEC newsletter no.72 of Dec. 1992 lists these changes on pages 5 and 6

    Vol.1: Hierarchical listing, contains the introduction and the alphabetical listing of descriptors together with their concept field. The 1994 ed. includes over 17.500 terms and over 4.000 USE references. Altogether there are 167.000 BT,NT and RT entries. Vol.2, the access vocabulary contains 42.000 eintries of postable and non-postable terms, embedded terms and other entry terms. Vol.3 gives definitions, added to the NASA thesaurus since 1976.     The DIMDI undertook a translation of NLM's MeSH, the machine-readable version is available from DIMDI. The thesaurus contains 18.000 subject headings in medicine and related fields. It is arranged: 1) alphabetically and 2) hierarchically. Both arrangements have a main list with the main subject headings only in German and two lists with German-English and English-German subject headings
