    Abstract
    In diesem Beitrag wird eine szientometrische Studie zum Informationsmanagement vorgestellt. Unter Verwendung von Science Citation Index und Social Science Citation Index wurde die Literatur zum Informationsmanagement nach verschiedenen Kriterien (Fachgruppen, in denen publiziert wird; Herkunft der Autoren; Publikationssprachen; zeitliche Verteilung) ausgewertet. Darüber hinaus wurde eine Zitatenanalyse durchgeführt. Auf Basis einer Autoren-Kozitationsanalyse wurde schließlich die formale Wissenschaftskommunikation im Bereich des Informationsmanagements abgebildet. Neben den Ergebnissen werden aber auch die Problembereiche aufgezeigt, die mit szientometrischen Untersuchungen verbunden sind

    Abstract
    Es wird über Teile einer empirischen Studie berichtet, die das Informationsmanagement in österreichischen Großunternehmen (Banken, Versicherungen und Automobilindustrie) untersuchte. Konkret sollen Unterschiede in der Wahrnehmung des Informationsmanagements aufgezeigt werden. Dabei wird davon ausgegangen, dass es zwei verschiedene Sichtweisen innerhalb des Informationsmanagements gibt: eine die primär auf Informationsinhalte abzielt und eine die hauptsächlich auf Informationstechnologie fokussiert. Im Beitrag werden zunächst die beiden Dimensionen des Informationsmanagements (Informationsinhalte/Content und Informationstechnologie) erläutert und darauf aufbauend das Untersuchungsdesign der Studie vorgestellt. Im Hauptteil werden Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten von content- und technologieorientierten Informationsfunktionen präsentiert. Diese betreffen das Selbstverständnis bezüglich Informationsmanagement sowie den wettbewerbsorientierten Einsatz von Information bzw. Informationstechnologie.
