    Abstract
    Durch den neuen Erschließungsstandard "Resource Description and Access" (RDA) lassen sich bibliografische Daten sowie Normdaten Semantic-Web-konform repräsentieren. Der Vortrag soll aufzeigen, welche Auswirkungen RDA auf die Katalogisierung in Bibliotheken und den Zugang zu den erschlossenen Ressourcen im Semantic Web hat. Anhand erster Erfahrungen aus praktischen Umsetzungen wird erläutert, wie bibliografische Daten durch RDA und Linked-Data-Technologien besser zugänglich gemacht und vor allem nachgenutzt werden können.

    Abstract
    Der Mensch ist ein soziales Wesen, und im Alltag gehen wir unhinterfragt davon aus, dass andere Menschen wie wir selbst geistbegabt sind und somit Gefühle, Gedanken und Absichten haben, und wir geben diese Annahme nur in den äußersten Ausnahmefällen auf. Aber auf welche Weise gelangen wir überhaupt zu berechtigten Überzeugungen darüber, was genau andere in einer bestimmten Situation fühlen, denken oder beabsichtigen, wo uns doch ein direkter Zugang zu deren Psyche verwehrt zu sein scheint? Welche Strategie(n) verwenden wir, um Zugang zu der Psyche eines Anderen zu erhalten und welche Art(en) von Wissen sind dabei involviert? Orientieren wir uns eher an unserem eigenen Vorbild und projizieren unsere Vorstellungen in die andere Person hinein oder ähnelt unsere Fähigkeit zur sozialen Kognition eher unserem theoretischen Verständnis anderer 'Objekte'? Beruht unser Wissen über die Psyche eines Anderen auf unserem vorhergehenden Selbstverständnis oder sind intentionaler Selbst- und Frem dbezug systematisch gleichberechtigt? Diese und andere Fragen bewegen nicht nur Philosophen seit alters her, sondern gleichermaßen auch Psychologen sowie jüngst auch Neurowissenschaftler, die solchen Fähigkeiten zugrunde liegende psychologische Prozesse und neuronale Mechanismen im Gehirn untersuchen.

    Abstract
    Folksonomies ermöglichen den Nutzern in Kollaborativen Informationsdiensten den Zugang zu verschiedenartigen Informationsressourcen. In welchen Fällen beide Bestandteile des Web 2.0 am besten für das Information Retrieval geeignet sind und wo sie die Websuche ggf. ersetzen können, wird in diesem Beitrag diskutiert. Dazu erfolgt eine detaillierte Betrachtung der Reichweite von Social-Bookmarking-Systemen und Sharing-Systemen sowie der Retrievaleffektivität von Folksonomies innerhalb von Kollaborativen Informationsdiensten.

    Abstract
    Dieser Fachbeitrag behandelt die Nachweise paralleler Druck- und Online-Ausgaben in Bibliothekskatalogen und Dokumenten-Suchmaschinen. Der Nachweis hybrider Publikationen, d. h. von parallel als Druck- und als Online-Ausgabe erschienenen Veröffentlichungen in Bibliothekskatalogen und Datenbanken ist von großer Diversität gekennzeichnet. Auch der direkte Zugang über die Kataloge zum im Netz frei verfügbaren elektronischen Gegenstück einer Printpublikation ist nicht selbstverständlich. Am Beispiel ausgewählter hybrider Publikationen wird gezeigt, wie Bibliotheken, Verbünde und Suchmaschinen in Deutschland und weltweit damit umgehen. In einer weitreichenden Analyse haben die Autorinnen die unterschiedlichen Handhabungen analysiert und kritisch bewertet. Die Arbeit gibt einerseits die Ergebnisse der Recherche wieder und richtet andererseits das Augenmerk auf die Notwendigkeit einheitlicher Katalogisierungsrichtlinien für hybride Publikationen.

    Abstract
    Open Access Archive für Fachdisziplinen unterscheiden sich von organisationseigenen Repositorien durch ihre geringere institutionelle Verankerung und konstitutive Translokalität. Aus ihrer Sicht fallen manche Schwierigkeiten der Open Access-Initiative besonders ins Gewicht. Am Beispiel eines kleinen disziplinären Repositoriums Sammelpunkt (für Philosophie) werden zwei Punkte hervorgehoben. Erstens finden sich Journalbeiträge (bisweilen in unterschiedlichen Versionen) immer häufiger in mehreren, offenen oder gebührenpflichtigen, Archiven. Und zweitens können spezialisierte Sammlungen der Anziehungskraft dominanter Portale im akademischen sozialen Netz nichts entgegensetzen. Die Gründe dieser Entwicklung sind zu analysieren. Eine konzeptuelle Unzulänglichkeit liegt darin, dass die publikumswirksame Rede vom offenen Zugang zur Forschungsliteratur bei näherem Hinsehen zu undifferenziert ist, um unbeabsichtigte Praktiken auszuschließen.

    Abstract
    Der Beitrag untersucht, inwieweit die im deutschsprachigen Raum erscheinenden Zeitschriften für das Fachgebiet Bibliotheks- und Informationswesen offen zugänglich sind. Die betreffenden Journale werden identifiziert und besprochen. Der Autor differenziert dabei das Angebot nach den Kategorien reine Online-Zeitschriften mit vollständigem offenen Zugang, hybride Zeitschriften mit vollständigem offenen Zugang, Zeitschriften mit zeitverzögertem offenen Zugang sowie Zeitschriften mit teilweisem offenen Zugang. Die Anzahl der bibliothekarischen bzw. informationswissenschaftlichen Fachjournale ohne zumindest teilweise oder zeitverzögerte freie Zugänglichkeit ist im deutschsprachigen Raum erfreulicherweise sehr gering.

    Abstract
    Nur wenige Unternehmen waren im Laufe der Geschichte so erfolgreich und gleichzeitig umstritten wie Google. Dem Autor Steven Levy wurde in bisher noch nie dagewesenem Umfang Zugang zum Unternehmen gestattet. In diesem aufschlussreichen Buch nimmt er die Leser mit in die Google-Zentrale, das Googleplex, um zu zeigen, wie Google arbeitet. Wie Levy enthüllt, liegt der Schlüssel zum Google-Erfolg einerseits in der technischen Denkweise sowie in der Ausübung typischer "Internet-Werte" wie Geschwindigkeit, Offenheit, Experimentier- und Risikofreude. Hat Google aber vielleicht seinen innovativen Biss verloren? In China ist es schwer gestolpert und Levy deckt auf, was dort schiefgelaufen ist und wie sich Brin und seine Kollegen bei der China-Strategie nicht einig waren. Und nun jagt Google bei seiner jüngsten Initiative, den sozialen Netzwerken, erstmals einem erfolgreichen Konkurrenten hinterher. Einige Mitarbeiter verlassen mittlerweile das Unternehmen in Richtung kleinerer, wendigerer Startups. Kann Google, das den berühmten Entschluss gefasst hat, nicht böse sein zu wollen, weiter wettbewerbsfähig bleiben? Kein anderes Buch konnte bisher die Google-Interna derart offenlegen.
