- Unerwartete Konkurrenz - Betreiber von Datennetzen wie Broadnet Mediascape sehen in Voice over IP eine Chance, an Privatkunden heranzukommen. Die Hamburger werben auf der Cebit mit Preisvorteilen für ihr DSL-Paket samt Datentelefonie - verglichen mit einem DSLAnschluss der Deutschen Telekom zuzüglich der Gebühren für den pauschal berechneten Internetzugang mit T-Online. Wie beispielsweise auch der Kölner Anbieter QSC mietet der Provider dazu das letzte Kabelstück zum Festpreis von der Deutschen Telekom und setzt in den Privatwohnungen eine eigene Anschlussdose. Damit könnte die Datentelefonie unverhofft den Wettbewerb auf dem Telekommunikationsmarkt beleben. "Wenn mehr Provider solche Angebote machen, muss sich die Telekom warm anziehen% sagt Ulrich Abend von bei IpTel, einer Ausgliederung der Fraunhofer Gesellschaft.
