    Abstract
    In diesem Papier soll die Rolle des FIZ Karlsruhe auf dem Gebiet des elektronischen Publizierens dartgestellt werden. Die Produktion von wissenschaftlich-technischen Datenbanken wird weitergeführt und der Online-Service STN International soll weiter ausgebaut werden. In Ergänzung hierzu werden Kooperationen mit Bibliotheken und Verlagen vereinbart, um eine umfassende Volltextversorgung für Literatur und Patente sicherzustellen. Zusätzlich wird ein Konzept für einen Electronic Information and Publishing Service erarbeitet, das folgende Komponenten umfaßt: (i) eine Volltextarchivierung der Originalmanuskripte in unveränderlicher Form, (ii) ein Online-Angebot der Volltexte und (iii) einen Editorial-Service zur Unterstützung der Verlage beim elektronischen Publizieren

    Abstract
    Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt das klassische Handbuch und elektronische Publikationen gegenüber, um darüber nachzudenken, was das traditionelle Handbuch an Funktionalität bereithält und wie diese auf ein elektronisches Medium (Computer und Bildschirm) übertragbar ist.     Abstract
    Schon seit über 12 Jahren setzt sich die wissenschaftliche Verlagsgruppe Springer mit den sich ständig weiterentwickelnden und effektiveren Wegen und Möglichkeiten der elektronische Informationsverarbeitung auseinander - zunächst primär mit Offline-Produkten, dann auch immer stärker im Online-bereich. 1995 erschien die erste von zwischenzeitlich 10 rein elektronischen Zeitschriften. Seit Anfang 1997 gibt es LINK - den Springer Online Informationsservice, in dem derzeit bereits mehr als 290 der mehr als 400 Springer-Zeitschriften als Volltext online verfügbar sind. LINK bietet gezielte Recherchen in den aufgelegten Informationen: Blättern in den Inhaltsverzeichnissen, differenzierte Suchfunktionalitäten, FAQ-Seiten, Testabos und vieles andere mehr runden das LINK-Servicepaket ab. Neu in LINK ist 'Online First' zur Publikation freigegebene Artikel werden lange noch vor ihrem Erscheinen in der gedruckten Zeitschrift online publiziert. Der LINK-Vorabservice LINK alert bietet allen LINK-Nutzern kostenlos die Möglichkeit, sich per Mailingliste die bibliographischen Angaben und Hyperlinks zu den Abstracts der Artikel zuschicken zu lassen, wenn von einer Zeitschrift z.B. ein neues Heft erschienen ist. Schließlich eröffnen sich mit dem LINK Alliance-Konzept auch verlagsfremden Informationsanbietern vielfältige Publikationsmöglichkeiten von Zeitschriften, elektronischen Büchern etc. in LINK als Online-Publikationsplattform in einem wissenschaftlichen Umfeld

    Abstract
    Der Artikel befasst sich mit der historischen Entwicklung der Langzeitarchivierung und den damit verbundenen Ansprüchen und Problemen. Insbesondere geht es um die rechtlichen Aspekte, die Dokumentenechtheit, die Revisionssicherheit, die Plattformunabhängigkeit und die Kostenkalkulation der zu archivierenden Daten. Auf dieser Basis werden die Erfolgsfaktoren für die Etablierung des PDF/A-Formats in Zusammenhang mit der digitalen Langzeitarchivierung dargestellt. Aus den Ergebnissen der eigens erstellten Online-Befragung auf der "PDF-Association"- Website zum Thema Kundenzufriedenheit werden Nutzen und Probleme der Anwender zusammengefasst.

    Abstract
    Die Sammlung und Archivierung von Websites hat sich seit Ende der 1990er-Jahre in einer Reihe von kulturbewahrenden Einrichtungen weltweit zu einem neuen Tätigkeitsfeld entwickelt. Einleitend wird zunächst die grundsätzliche Notwendigkeit der Webarchivierung erläutert, bevor die wichtigsten Grundlagen und Herausforderungen der Thematik kurz beschrieben werden. Eine Bestandsaufnahme beleuchtet die bisherigen Aktivitäten in ausgewählten deutschen Bibliotheken: Baden-Württembergisches Online-Archiv (BOA), SaarDok und edoweb sowie die Webarchivierung an der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek und der SUB Hamburg. Daneben werden auch einige Projekte im wissenschaftlichen Bereich beschrieben. Abschließend wird der aktuelle Stand der Webarchivierung in deutschen Bibliotheken zusammengefasst und es werden mögliche Entwicklungsszenarien aufgezeigt.
