Ludwig Wittgenstein ist zum Lieblingsphilosophen der KI-Ingenieure avanciert. Auch der Mensch, schreibt er, simuliert seine Menschlichkeit nur. Der Philosoph Ludwig Wittgenstein ist wieder erstaunlich aktuell. Er wird in Science-Fiction-Filmen zitiert und auf Kongressen und Workshops zu künstlicher Intelligenz zurate gezogen. Warum aber Wittgenstein? Um diese Frage beantworten zu können, muss man den Blick zurück in die Mitte des zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts werfen, als fünf innovative Forschungsprogramme fast gleichzeitig entwickelt wurden.

"Die Deutsche Nationalbibliothek hat auf ihrer Website die Aktualisierung 2011 der RAK-Musik-Anlage M 9 "Maßgebliche Werkverzeichnisse und Zählweise der Werke in Einheitssachtiteln" in elektronischer Form veröffentlicht. Wie bereits in den Vorjahren hat die Arbeitsstelle für Standardisierung Vorschläge für die Aktualisierung entgegengenommen. Die Musikabteilungen der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin Preußischer Kulturbesitz und der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek München sowie das Deutsche Musikarchiv der Deutschen Nationalbibliothek haben Einvernehmen über die Neuaufnahme der Werkverzeichnisse für Johann Ludwig Krebs, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Max Reger, Dmitrij D. Sostakovic und Franz Xaver Süßmayr erzielt." Die Aktualisierung 2011 steht kostenfrei unter http://d-nb.info/1017170339/34 zur Verfügung und ersetzt jene von 2010.

Abstract

This study analyzes conceptual aspects of the principle of semantic warrant in knowledge organization through the study of language. This analysis resorts to the perception of language as a phenomenon of social activity related to the views of Mikhail Bakhtin and Ludwig Wittgenstein. From the authors' pragmatic concept of language, it seeks to update the possibility of understanding the principle of semantic warrant to address the shortcomings of theoretical reflection on this topic, especially in the wake of the emergence of web information phenomena.

Abstract

Ausgehend von der Überzeugung, dass der Zugriff auf digitale Information künftig primär,wenn nicht sogar ausschließlich über mobile Endgeräte wie Smartphones und Tablets erfolgen wird, stellt die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek gegenwärtig ihre Basisdienste ebenso wie ihre digitalen Content-Angebote sukzessive als mobile Applikationen bereit. Zuerst wurden der Online-Katalog und die Website der Bibliothek als generische, auf allen gängigen Smartphone-Browsern lauffähige, mobile Applikationen programmiert. In einem weiteren Schritt hat die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek 5o digitalisierte Spitzenstücke ihres Bestandes als native App »Famous Books -Treasures of the Bavarian State Library« für iPad und iPhone bereitgestellt, darauf folgte im Frühling 2011 die App »Islamic Books - Oriental treasures of the Bavarian State Library«. Aktuell experimentiert die Bayerische Staatsbibliothek zudem mit Augmented-Reality-Anwendungen. In einer mobilen Applikation »Ludwig II.« soll digitalisierter Bibliothekscontent zum berühmten bayerischen »Märchenkönig« georeferenziert an herausragenden Wirkungsstätten des Königs wie Schloss Neuschwanstein als Augmented-Reality-Applikation angeboten werden. Der Artikel stellt die verschiedenen mobilen Services und Anwendungen der Bayerischen Staatsbibliothek vor, beleuchtet ihre technische Realisierung und bewertet die Chancen und Grenzen bibliothekarischer Dienste im mobilen Internet.

Abstract

Bis heute findet sich der Name des französischen Gelehrten und Mathematikers Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert in vielen Geschichtsbüchern. Das hat vor allem einen Grund: Gemeinsam mit dem Philosophen Denis Diderot gab d'Alembert eines der wichtigsten Werke der Aufklärung heraus. Dessen etwas ausladender Titel lautet: »Enzyklopädie oder ein durchdachtes Wörterbuch der Wissenschaften, Künste und Handwerke«. Ziel der Herausgeber war es, »ein allgemeines Bild der Anstrengungen des menschlichen Geistes auf allen Gebieten und in allen Jahrhunderten zu entwerfen«. An der Abfassung der mehr als 70 000 Enzyklopädie-Artikel beteiligte sich fast die gesamte geistige Elite Frankreichs, darunter Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Voltaire und Montesquieu. Der erste Band erschien 1751 und enthielt ein viel beachtetes Vorwort von d'Alembert, der gelegentlich erklärte: Das Wissen der Menschheit stamme nicht von einem Monarchen oder aus Rom, sondern vom individuellen Sinn und Verstand. Erwartungsgemäß stand der französische König Ludwig XV. dem Werk ebenso ablehnend gegenüber wie Papst Clemens XIII., der die Enzyklopädie 1759 auf den Index der verbotenen Bücher setzen ließ. Doch alle Versuche, den Fortgang des Projekts zu verhindern, scheiterten. Zuletzt umfasste das aufklärerische Mammutwerk 35 Bände; den Schluss bildete 1780 ein zweibändiges Register.

Abstract

Die Jahre 1919 bis 1929 markieren eine Epoche unvergleichlicher geistiger Kreativität, in der Gedanken zum ersten Mal gedacht wurden, ohne die das Leben und Denken in unserer Gegenwart nicht dasselbe wäre. Die großen Philosophen Ludwig Wittgenstein, Walter Benjamin, Ernst Cassirer und Martin Heidegger prägten diese Epoche und ließen die deutsche Sprache ein letztes Mal vor der Katastrophe des Zweiten Weltkriegs zur Sprache des Geistes werden. Wolfram Eilenberger, Bestsellerautor, langjähriger Chefredakteur des »Philosophie Magazins« und der wohl begabteste und zurzeit auffälligste Vermittler von Geistesgeschichte im deutschsprachigen Raum, erweckt die Philosophie der Zwanziger Jahre und mit ihr ein ganzes Jahrzehnt zwischen Lebenslust und Wirtschaftskrise, Nachkrieg und aufkommendem Nationalsozialismus zum Leben.
