    Abstract
    Untersuchung, inwieweit tiefergehende semantische Verfahren, wie sie z.T. in der Artificial Intelligence entwickelt wurden, sinnvoll im Information Retrieval eingesetzt werden können. Dazu werden in einem implementierten System, ausgehend von einer 'mächtigen' Repräsentationssprache (prädikatenlogische Sprache mit typisierten Variablen), durch sukzessives Reduzieren der syntaktischen Mittel 'weniger mächtige' Repräsentationssprachen erzeugt und jeweils Retrievaltests durchgeführt.
