    Abstract
    Vor drei Jahren beschloss die Steuerungsgruppe »Systematikkooperation« mit Vertretern des Deutschen Bibliotheksverbandes (dbv), des Berufsverbands Information Bibliothek (BIB) und der ekz.bibliotheksservice GmbH (siehe auch BuB Heft 7/8-2011, Seite 511) die Aktualisierungen der ASB und der KAB auf neue Grundlagen zu stellen. Hintergrund war, dass mit der Auflösung des Deutschen Bibliotheksinstitutes die Systematikpflege für die bereits weitgehend aktualisierte KAB zunächst noch mit einem Werkvertrag fortgeführt werden konnte, aber dann für beide Systematiken zum Erliegen kam.

    Abstract
    Die Dreigeteilte Bibliothek wurde vielfach zur Fraktalen Bibliothek weiterentwickelt. Zum Konzept dieser Variante gehört maßgeblich die Bildung von thematischen »Inseln«, die aus unterschiedlichsten Gruppen des ansonsten systematisch erschlossenen Bestandes bestückt werden. Nur wenige Öffentliche Bibliotheken wagten den kompletten Bruch mit der klassischen Systematik, und dabei handelte es sich regelmäßig um kleine Bibliotheken. Zumindest bisher...
