    Abstract
    Die Syntax des HTML Meta-Tags erlaubt die Darstellung von Grundinformationen über Ressourcen. Jedoch schon bei einfachen Gruppierungsanforderungen werden Absprachen erforderlich, die keinen Rückhalt in der HTML Spezifikation haben und deshalb nicht mehr maschinenverstehbar sind. Die bereits auf der zweiten Dublin Core Tagung beschriebene Notwendigkeit der Modularität von Metadaten (Warwick Framework) (Verfeinerung und Erweiterung von Dublin Core, Zielsetzungen außerhalb eines eng verstandenen Resource Discovery, Bezüge zwischen Vokabularen) kann in zufriedenstellender Form mit dem Meta-Tag nicht implementiert werden. Fortschritte auch für die semantische Interoperabilität lassen sich durch den Einsatz des vom W3 Konsortium definierten Resource Description Framework (RDF) Schema erzielen
