    Abstract
    In important stage in the process of retrieval of objects from a hypertext database is the creation of a set of inter-nodal links that are intended to represent the relationships existing between objects; this operation is often undertaken manually, just as index terms are often manually assigned to documents in a conventional retrieval system. Studies of conventional systems have suggested that a degree of consistency in the terms assigned to documents by indexers is positively associated with retrieval effectiveness. It is thus of interest to investigate the consistency of assignment of links in separate hypertext versions of the same full-text document, since a measure of agreement may be related to the subsequent utility of the resulting hypertext databases. The calculation of values indicating the degree of similarity between objects is a technique that has been widely used in the fields of textual and chemical information retrieval; in this paper we describe the application of arithmetic coefficients and topological indices to the measurement of the degree of similarity between the sets of inter-nodal links in hypertext databases. We publish the results of a study in which several different of links are inserted, by different people, between the paragraphs of each of a number of full-text documents. Our results show little similary between the sets of links identified by different people; this finding is comparable with those of studies of inter-indexer consistency, where it has been found that there is generally only a low level of agreement between the sets of idenx terms assigned to a document by different indexers

    Abstract
    This paper describes part of a university research project which aims to construct a design method involving interactive multimedia products for knowledge acquisition. The purpose of the method is to design truly interactive multimedia products (Vidalenc, 1997), and thus to introduce a new form of writing. This is built up by adopting a constructivist paradigm that is based upon a systemic view and upon a network approach such as proposed by the sociology of translation (Callon, 1986). All our reflections are indeed based on the differentiation between two levels of information: an internal level and a sensitive level (Bouzidi and Vidalenc, 1997). However we have chosen a common model, the object oriented model, which allows us to represent the elements belonging to each level. In order to prove the validity of this proceeding, a prototype is under preparation. It is founded on the transposition of a course, which deals with telecommunications and networks, into a multimedia teaching tool. To be able to build up the prototype, taking into account the usual steps (writing the requirement schedule, choosing the necessary technology, modeling, design, implementation and evaluation), and after that, to be able to measure the conception method, a stage of analysis and assessment of the present course is necessary. The analysis of the course must allow us to identify the conditions of the knowledge transfer and provide components for the requirement schedule of the hypermedia product.     This article reports an applied research on the construction and implementation of a semantically structured conceptual prototype to help in the organization and representation of human knowledge in hypertextual systems, based on four references: the Facet Analysis Theory (FAT), the Conceptual Map Theory, semantic structure of hypertext links and the technical guidelines of the Associacao Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (ABNT). This prototype, called Modelo Hipertextual para Organizacao de Documentos (MHTX) - Model For Hypertext Organization of Documents HTXM - is formed by a semantic structure called Conceptual Map (CM) and Expanded Summary (ES), the latter based on the summary of a selected doctoral thesis to which access points were designed. In the future, this prototype maybe used to implement a digital libraty called BTDECI - UFMG (Biblioteca de Teses e Dissertacöes do Programa de Pós-Graduacao da Escola de Ciência da Informacao da UFMG - Library of Theses and Dissertations of the Graduate Program of School of Information Science of Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais).
