    Abstract
    Als Erfinder des «Allgemeinen» gilt, gemäß dem Bericht des Aristoteles und seit diesem Bericht, Sokrates. Er ist es, der nicht mehr danach suchte, woraus ein Ding zu dem geworden ist, was es ist, oder wie es entstanden ist, sondern danach, «was [ein Ding] ist», und somit ist Sokrates der erste gewesen, der die Herausarbeitung des Allgemeinen (?a?????) forderte und mit seinen Fragen seine Gesprächspartner zu dieser Herausarbeitung trieb bzw. lockte; die Definition (???sµ??) war das Ziel des sokratischen Gesprächs, und die sokratische Aporie war das Vehikel.

    Abstract
    Eine der wesentlichen Aufgaben als Fachreferent*in ist die inhaltliche Erschließung der neuerworbenen Literatur, sowie die Begutachtung und Auswahl der neu erschienenen Werke in den jeweiligen Fachgebieten hinsichtlich der Relevanz für die eigenen Sammlungen gemäß dem Sammlungsprofil der TU Wien Bibliothek. Im Zuge der Corona-Krise wurde die herkömmliche Arbeitsweise in der Sacherschließung beeinträchtigt, und es haben sich neue Herausforderungen, aber auch Möglichkeiten ergeben. Neben der fehlenden Autopsie der Literatur leidet auch die Sichtung und Erwerbung neuer Literatur unter der physischen Abwesenheit vom Arbeitsplatz bzw. der entsprechenden technischen Infrastruktur. Auch der persönliche Austausch mit den Kolleg*innen wurde deutlich erschwert. Neben den Schwierigkeiten wurden aber auch die neuen Handlungsoptionen auf beruflicher und individueller Ebene positiv gesehen. In dem Artikel werden unsere individuellen Erfahrungen an der TU Wien Bibliothek sowie Ausblicke in die Zukunft wiedergegeben.

    Abstract
    Wissenschaftliche Karrieren und Publikationen benötigen Reputation und möglichst viel Beachtung. Literatur, die diese Aufmerksamkeit findet, wird - so die gängige Annahme - häufig zitiert. Ausgehend von dieser Überlegung wurden Verfahren der Zitationsmessung entwickelt, die Auskunft über die Relevanz oder (wie im- und explizit oft auch postuliert wird) gar die Qualität einer Publikation oder eines Wissenschaftlers geben sollen.

    Abstract
    Das Problem der Wahrnehmung und Darstellung von Wahrheit durch die Medien führt zu vier zentralen Fragen: Wie viel Wahrheit gibt es in der Welt, über die Journalisten berichten müssen? Wie ermittelt oder recherchiert man diese Wahrheit? Wie trennt man die Spreu vom Weizen? Und wie geht man als Journalist mit dem um, was man als Wahrheit erkannt hat oder erkannt zu haben glaubt? Hier gibt es ganz offensichtlich eine Parallele zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern. Journalisten und Wissenschaftler brauchen erstens Hypothesen, zweitens geeignete Hypothesentests, drittens ein gutes Abgrenzungs-Kriterium und viertens Verfahren, um die erkannten Sachverhalte auf angemessene Weise für eine Kommunikation mit anderen zu repräsentieren, das heißt sie darzustellen. Es gibt zwei große Unterschiede zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern: Journalisten sind in der Regel auf raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen aus, Wissenschaftler in der Regel auf raumzeitlich unbegrenzte Gesetze. Aber diese Unterschiede sind fließend, weil Wissenschaftler raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen brauchen, um ihre All-Aussagen zu überprüfen, und Journalisten sich immer häufiger auf das Feld der allgemeinen Gesetzes-Aussagen wagen oder doch zumindest Kausalinterpretationen für soziale Phänomene anbieten. Der zweite Unterschied besteht darin, dass die Wissenschaft weitgehend professionalisiert ist (zumindest gilt dies uneingeschränkt für die Naturwissenschaften und die Medizin), was ihr relativ klare Abgrenzungs- und Güte-Kriterien beschert hat. Diese fehlen weitgehend im Journalismus.

    Abstract
    Nach einem kurzen Rückblick auf die Vorgeschichte des Fachinformationsdienstes Buch-, Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft (FID BBI) sowie einer Skizze zum Stand der Fachinformationsdienste im Allgemeinen bietet der vorliegende Bericht aus der Werkstatt des FID BBI vor allem Aussagen zu den Erwerbungskriterien des Dienstes und Informationen zu dem kürzlich freigeschalteten Portal. Die Angaben sollen dem Austausch mit der bibliothekarischen und fachlichen Community dienen und schließen daher auch offene Fragen und noch unerreichte Meilensteine ein.

    Abstract
    Im Rahmen der technischen Redaktion, der Fachübersetzung und der Terminologiearbeit werden Verfahren und Werkzeuge zur Verwaltung und Nutzung des (technischen) Fachwortschatzes benötigt; im Bereich der Information und Dokumentation erarbeitet und nutzt man Systeme, die Information und Wissen verwaltbar, zugänglich und wieder auffindbar machen. Die in diesen Anwendungsbereichen erarbeiteten und genutzten Sammlungen von meist fachsprachlichen Informationen werden in der Praxis häufig undifferenziert als Glossar, Wörterbuch, Lexikon, Vokabular, Nomenklatur, Thesaurus, Terminologie oder Ontologie bezeichnet. Dieser Beitrag zeigt die Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten dieser einzelnen Typen von geordneten Wissensbeständen auf, wobei auch auf die spezielle Methoden und Paradigmen der Terminologiewissenschaft und der Informationswissenschaft eingegangen wird.

    Abstract
    Im Rahmen des DFG Förderprogramms Fachinformationsdienste (FID) nahm der FID Buch- Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaft, eine Kooperation der Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbüttel und der Universitätsbibliothek Leipzig, im Oktober 2017 seine Arbeit auf. Ziel ist, die Spitzenversorgung mit Literatur für Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler dieser und angrenzenden Disziplinen sicher zu stellen. Dazu hat der FID BBI ein Discovery Tool entwickelt. Grundlage dafür ist die Open-Source-Software VuFind. Eine Herausforderung für den FID BBI ist die Auswertung unterschiedlichster Datenquellen, weil die Themengebiete des FID BBI sehr weit gefächert sind. Das Portal bietet einen schnellen Rechercheeinstieg. Es ist aber auch möglich komplexere Suchanfragen zu stellen. Der Kontakt zu der wissenschaftlichen Gemeinschaft, die der FID BBI bedient, hat große Priorität, um die Ziele, die von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft gesetzt wurden, zu erfüllen.     Abstract
    Dirk Lewandowski (HAW Hamburg) hatte mit dem Titel seines Referates auf der Veranstaltung zur "Zukunft der Informationswissenschaft - Hat die Informationswissenschaft eine Zukunft?" an der UB der TU Berlin Brisanz angekündigt. Sein Titel lautete: "Warum die Frage nach der Zukunft der Informationswissenschaft falsch gestellt ist". Dabei war die Veranstaltung auf der Basis des Buches "Zukunft der Informationswissenschaft - Hat die Informationswissenschaft eine Zukunft?" entwickelt worden. Wie sich zeigte, war Lewandowski der erste, der sich öffentlich mit den in dem Buch erhobenen Kritiken zum Stand der Informationswissenschaft umfassend auseinandergesetzt hatte und damit die dort geführte informationswissenschaftliche Debatte fortführte. Damit kam er den impliziten Wünschen der Autoren entgegen, die sich in dem Buch kritisch zum Stand der Informationswissenschaft geäußert hatten. Der Referent erklärte, er habe sich nach der Lektüre des Buches gefragt (oder nach den ersten 150 Seiten des Buches, auf denen Grundfragen der Informationswissenschaft erörtert werden - anschließend geht es mehr um eine Leistungsschau der Disziplin in Forschung und Lehre): "Von welcher Informationswissenschaft ist hier eigentlich die Rede?" und sich darauf die Antwort gegeben: "Das ist nicht die Informationswissenschaft, wie ich sie kenne." Die Grundhaltung der Autoren im Buch seien Zweifel an der Zukunft der Informationswissenschaft wenn nicht an der Zukunftsfähigkeit des Faches gewesen. Lewandowski widersprach diesen Kritikern mit den Worten, dass er keine Zweifel an der Zukunft der Informationswissenschaft habe. Wohl habe die Informationswissenschaft ein strukturelles, jedoch kein inhaltliches Problem.     Abstract
    Ein zentrales Internetportal für die Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften soll die bislang verstreute Fachinformation in diesen drei eng benachbarten Disziplinen bündeln und unter einer Suchoberfläche zusammenführen. Der Aufbau dieser "Virtuellen Fachbibliothek Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften" (ViFa BBI) erfolgt mit Unterstützung der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Der Nutzer findet hier in Zukunft alle Möglichkeiten eines "one-stop-shop" der Fachinformation vor: Mit einer einzigen Suchanfrage recherchiert er gleichzeitig in einer Vielzahl von Nachweisinstrumenten für gedruckte und elektronische Materialien, Internetressourcen und Fakteninformationen. Thematisches Browsing und Navigieren sind ebenso möglich wie die formale Suche nach Autoren oder Titelstichworten. Zum Service gehören außerdem Bestellmöglichkeiten für Monographien-, Zeitschriften- und Aufsatzliteratur sowie für elektronische Materialien, die als Datei oder Druckausgabe angefordert werden können. Das Angebot richtet sich an Wissenschaftler, Studierende und bereits in der Praxis tätige Absolventen der Bibliotheks-, Buch- und Informationswissenschaften. Die Fachcommunity wird durch einen wissenschaftlichen Beirat an der Entwicklung des Portals beteiligt. Durch den facettenreichen und in vielfacher Hinsicht propädeutischen Charakter der hier zusammengefassten Fachgebiete, die u.a. historische, betriebs- und sozialwissenschaftliche, sowie informationstechnologische Aspekte umfassen, ist die ViFa BBI auch interdisziplinär von Interesse. Deshalb ist auch jeder am Buch- Bibliotheks- und Informationswesen Interessierte aufgerufen, sich bei der Entwicklung zu beteiligen Partner beim Aufbau des Portals: - Fachbereich Informationswissenschaften der FH Potsdam - Informationszentrum für Informationswissenschaft und -praxis der Fachhochschule Potsdam - Kompetenznetzwerk für Bibliotheken (KNB) beim Deutschen Bibliotheksverband Berlin (DBV) - Buchwissenschaft der Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg - und Niedersächsische Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen, die als DFG-Sondersammelgebietsbibliothek für das Fach "Informations-, Buch- und Bibliothekswesen" die Entwicklung koordiniert.
