    Abstract
    Als Erfinder des «Allgemeinen» gilt, gemäß dem Bericht des Aristoteles und seit diesem Bericht, Sokrates. Er ist es, der nicht mehr danach suchte, woraus ein Ding zu dem geworden ist, was es ist, oder wie es entstanden ist, sondern danach, «was [ein Ding] ist», und somit ist Sokrates der erste gewesen, der die Herausarbeitung des Allgemeinen (?a?????) forderte und mit seinen Fragen seine Gesprächspartner zu dieser Herausarbeitung trieb bzw. lockte; die Definition (???sµ??) war das Ziel des sokratischen Gesprächs, und die sokratische Aporie war das Vehikel.

    Abstract
    Das Problem der Wahrnehmung und Darstellung von Wahrheit durch die Medien führt zu vier zentralen Fragen: Wie viel Wahrheit gibt es in der Welt, über die Journalisten berichten müssen? Wie ermittelt oder recherchiert man diese Wahrheit? Wie trennt man die Spreu vom Weizen? Und wie geht man als Journalist mit dem um, was man als Wahrheit erkannt hat oder erkannt zu haben glaubt? Hier gibt es ganz offensichtlich eine Parallele zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern. Journalisten und Wissenschaftler brauchen erstens Hypothesen, zweitens geeignete Hypothesentests, drittens ein gutes Abgrenzungs-Kriterium und viertens Verfahren, um die erkannten Sachverhalte auf angemessene Weise für eine Kommunikation mit anderen zu repräsentieren, das heißt sie darzustellen. Es gibt zwei große Unterschiede zwischen Journalisten und Wissenschaftlern: Journalisten sind in der Regel auf raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen aus, Wissenschaftler in der Regel auf raumzeitlich unbegrenzte Gesetze. Aber diese Unterschiede sind fließend, weil Wissenschaftler raum-zeitlich begrenzte Aussagen brauchen, um ihre All-Aussagen zu überprüfen, und Journalisten sich immer häufiger auf das Feld der allgemeinen Gesetzes-Aussagen wagen oder doch zumindest Kausalinterpretationen für soziale Phänomene anbieten. Der zweite Unterschied besteht darin, dass die Wissenschaft weitgehend professionalisiert ist (zumindest gilt dies uneingeschränkt für die Naturwissenschaften und die Medizin), was ihr relativ klare Abgrenzungs- und Güte-Kriterien beschert hat. Diese fehlen weitgehend im Journalismus.

    Abstract
    Eine der wesentlichen Aufgaben als Fachreferent*in ist die inhaltliche Erschließung der neuerworbenen Literatur, sowie die Begutachtung und Auswahl der neu erschienenen Werke in den jeweiligen Fachgebieten hinsichtlich der Relevanz für die eigenen Sammlungen gemäß dem Sammlungsprofil der TU Wien Bibliothek. Im Zuge der Corona-Krise wurde die herkömmliche Arbeitsweise in der Sacherschließung beeinträchtigt, und es haben sich neue Herausforderungen, aber auch Möglichkeiten ergeben. Neben der fehlenden Autopsie der Literatur leidet auch die Sichtung und Erwerbung neuer Literatur unter der physischen Abwesenheit vom Arbeitsplatz bzw. der entsprechenden technischen Infrastruktur. Auch der persönliche Austausch mit den Kolleg*innen wurde deutlich erschwert. Neben den Schwierigkeiten wurden aber auch die neuen Handlungsoptionen auf beruflicher und individueller Ebene positiv gesehen. In dem Artikel werden unsere individuellen Erfahrungen an der TU Wien Bibliothek sowie Ausblicke in die Zukunft wiedergegeben.

    Abstract
    Wissenschaftliche Karrieren und Publikationen benötigen Reputation und möglichst viel Beachtung. Literatur, die diese Aufmerksamkeit findet, wird - so die gängige Annahme - häufig zitiert. Ausgehend von dieser Überlegung wurden Verfahren der Zitationsmessung entwickelt, die Auskunft über die Relevanz oder (wie im- und explizit oft auch postuliert wird) gar die Qualität einer Publikation oder eines Wissenschaftlers geben sollen.

    "Seit Mitte 2003 hat der Arbeitskreis Filmbibliotheken gemeinsam mit der KOBV-Zentrale den Verbundkatalog Film aufgebaut. Mit einem absuchbaren Bestand von inzwischen rund 400.000 Bänden Filmliteratur und 200.000 Videos/DVDs ist der Verbundkatalog Film das Rechercheinstrument für Filme und Filmliteratur in deutschen Bibliotheken. Der Verbundkatalog Film ist über das KOBV-Portal recherchierbar: http://digibib.kobv.de > Klick auf Verbundkatalog Film. Derzeit sind dreizehn Bibliotheken des Arbeitskreises in den Filmkatalog integriert: - Berlin - Filmmuseum Berlin / Deutsche Kinemathek - Berlin - Sprachenzentrum der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin - Berlin - Universität der Künste - Berlin - Zentral- und Landesbibliothek - Braunschweig - Hochschule für Bildende Künste - Frankfurt/Main - Stadt- und Universitätsbibliothek - Frankfurt/Main - Deutsches Filmmuseum - Karlsruhe - Mediathek - Köln - Kunsthochschule für Medien - Oldenburg - Mediathek der Universität - Potsdam - Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen - Siegen - Universitätsbibliothek - Siegen - Medienzentrum der Universität Die Einbindung weiterer Bibliotheken des Arbeitskreises ist geplant. Musste ein Nutzer bislang mühsam die Kataloge jeder Bibliothek einzeln nach Filmen und Filmliteratur absuchen, kann er dies nun mit einer einzigen Recherche tun. Statt sich die oft kryptischen Internet-Adressen der Einzelkataloge zu merken, genügt es, eine einzige Internet-Adresse - die des KOBV-Portals (s.o.) - zu kennen. Einem Nutzer des Verbundkataloges Film stehen zudem alle Funktionen des KOBV-Portals zur Verfügung. Zu nennen sind hier beispielsweise die personalisierten Dienste, die unter anderem das Erstellen persönlicher Suchlisten, das Speichern und Re-Aktivieren von Suchanfragen wie auch das Speichern und Verwalten von Suchergebnissen erlauben. Der Kooperative Bibliotheksverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (KOBV) hat den Verbundkatalog Film im Rahmen seiner Dienstleistung "Hosting-Service für virtuelle Fachverbünde" aufgebaut. Der Hosting-Service steht allen Bibliotheken einer fachlichen Arbeitsgemeinschaft oder eines Fachverbundes offen und ist unabhängig von einer Mitgliedschaft im KOBV."

    "Wir alle kennen den Spruch: Das Medium ist die Botschaft. In diesem Slogan verdichtete der Kanadier Marshall McLuhan vor fast einem halben Jahrhundert die Erkenntnisse einer neuen Zeit. Sie war mit der Elektrizität angebrochen, die neue Möglichkeiten zum Speichern von Information geschaffen hat und damit die Grundlage für ein neues Medienzeitalter bildete. McLuhan war der Überzeugung, dass damit die zweieinhalb Jahrtausende währende Ignoranz der Philosophie gegenüber der Technik beendet sein muss.     Abstract
    Mit dem gesellschaftlichen Wandel, der stark durch neue Kommunikationstechnologien vorangetrieben wird, strukturieren sich auch die Gegenstände, die Methoden und die Anforderungen der Wissenschaften neu. Gerade Disziplinen, die sich mit Motoren dieses Wandels auseinandersetzen, müssen den Veränderungen in Forschung und Lehre begegnen. Diese Prozesse erzeugen neue Informationsbedürfnisse in den Wissenschaften und erhöhen die Anforderungen im Bereich der Recherchekompetenz aufgrund zunehmender Komplexität der verfügbaren Datenquellen. Fachspezifische Literaturversorgung in integrierten Rechercheumgebungen und die Durchlässigkeit für trans- sowie interdisziplinäre Perspektiven gehören daher zu den Kernanforderungen, die an Bibliotheken, Archive und weitere Informationsvermittler gestellt werden. Mit der Etablierung Virtueller Fachbibliotheken reagierte die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) frühzeitig auf die veränderten Bedingungen. Seit Beginn des Jahres 2009 besteht nun auch für die Kommunikations- und Medienwissenschaft / Publizistik, die Film- und Theaterwissenschaft ein gemeinsames Fachportal, das den Informationsbedürfnissen der Wissenschaftler, der Studierenden und der Berufspraktiker Rechnung trägt: die Virtuelle Fachbibliothek medien buehne film. Der folgende Beitrag stellt das neue Portal vor und erläutert den besonderen Aufbau, die verfügbaren Funktionen sowie Inhalte. Zusätzlich wird die organisatorische Struktur des Projektes vermittelt und ein Ausblick auf die geplante Weiterentwicklung von medien buehne film gegeben.

    Abstract
    Cyberpunk als Teil der Science Fiction Literatur gibt es seit den achtziger Jahren. Als Klassiker des Genres gilt die Neuromanoer-Trlogie von William Gibson (1984, 1986, 1988). Gibson war einer der ersten, die randständig erscheinende Stränge der Popkultur in die SF-Literatur aufnahmen. CP galt deshalb als radikal, als eine Art Untergrundkultur. Neuere Cyberpunk Romane sind etwa Snow Crash (1992) und The Diamond Age (1995) von Neal Stephenson. Gibson und Stephenson sind US-Amerikaner; ihre Werke liegen auch in deutscher Übersetzung vor. In der zweiten Hälfte der neunziger Jahre wurden Stimmen laut, daß Cyberpunk schon längst wieder out ist (Leonard 1998). Achim Bühl faßt die CPSpezifika wie folgt zusammen. In der negativen Utopie der Cyberpunk Erzählungen dominiert das 'System' das Leben der 'einfachen Leute'. Das Systemische kann ein diktatorisches Regime, eine fundamentalistische Religion oder - wie bei William Gibson - die Herrschaft multinationaler, globaler Konzerne sein. Die Systeme sind zutiefst verkoppelt mit modernen Informationstechnologien [...]. Das Interface, die Direktverbindung zwischen menschlichem Gehirn und elektronischen Datenverarbeitungsanlagen, wird so zur Verkörperung systemischer Extension, der Mensch zum Bestandteil der Maschine [...]. Der Hacker, der die Rechner von Firmen und Institutionen durchstreift und versucht, elektronische Invasionsabwehrsysteme [...] zu durchbrechen, ist ein Söldner krimineller Subjekte, ein Teil der Maschine, drogensüchtig, physisch zerstört. Dies ist der 'Cyber'-Aspekt des Cyberpunks. Die Helden in den Erzählungen der Cyberpunk-Literaten kommen aus den marginalisierten Schichten des Technosystems, es sind Kriminelle, Ausgestossene, Abtrünnige, Drogensüchtige, Prostituierte, Hehler, Visionäre und Irre. Die Cyberpunk-Literaten richten den Blick ihrer Kameras auf die Straße, auf die Gosse, auf den Überlebenskampf, auf die Verliererseite des High-Tech. Ihre Figuren sind [...] häufig Speed-Freaks, beheimatet im Straßenmilieu der Halbwelt, Consolencowboys, welche versuchen, die Technomaschinerie für ihre Zwecke im Überlebenskampf auszunutzen [...]. Dies ist [...] der 'Punk'-Aspekt des Cyberpunks" (Bühl 1997, 140). Inzwischen ist CP längst über das literarische Genre hinaus zu einem einflußreichen Segment der Popkultur geworden, unter anderem im Film. Ridley Scotts Blade Runner (USA 1982) ist da nicht wegzudenken, außerdem Johnny Mnemonic (USA 1995), zu dem William Gibson das Drehbuch geschrieben hat, Andy und Lany Wachowskis The Matrix oder, in bestimmter Hinsicht, David Finchers Fight Club (beide USA 1999). Es gibt ein Rollenspiel namens Cyberpunk, das auf einem Mix von Elementen aus der Neuromanoer-Trilogie und dem Blade Runner basiert, und dieser Film wiederum dient als Vorlage für ein Computerspiel.
