    Abstract
    Als Grundforderungen des Bibliothekars an eine Buchklassifikation werden genannt: Rücksichtnahme auf vorhandenen Buchbestand und laufenden Bücherzugang, auf den Kreis gegenwärtiger wie zukünftiger Benutzer und auf die Kenntnisse des Klassifikators. Es sollte bedacht werden, daß die Hauptbenutzer von Sachkatalogen in deutschen wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken Anfänger sind, ihre Suche nach thematisch begrenzter Literatur geht in die Breite, nicht in die Tiefe. Die gegenwärtige Situation der Bibliotheksklassifikation in der BR Deutschland wird knapp umrissen, zwei Einwände gegen die Konzeption für eine Einheitsklassifikation der Bibliotheken der BR Deutschland werden vorgebracht
