    Abstract
    Phishing-Verdacht gegen die Schattenbibliothek. Wieder einmal drohen der Schattenbibliothek Sci-Hub, die kostenpflichtige Verlagspublikationen wissenschaftlicher Art unter Umgehung des Copyrights kostenlos verbreitet, juristische Widrigkeiten. Bereits 2017 gestand ein New Yorker Gericht Elsevier, neben Wiley und Springer Nature einer der drei größten Wissenschaftsverlage, 15 Millionen US-Dollar Schadensersatz für Urheberrechtsverletzungen zu, basierend auf einer durch Elsevier dem Gericht vorgelegten Liste von 100 Artikeln, die von den Schattenbibliotheken Sci-Hub und LibGen illegal zur Verfügung gestellt wurden. Dieses und andere Urteile ließen sich jedoch mangels Zugriffes auf Sci-Hub und dessen Verantwortliche außerhalb des juristischen Einflussbereiches der USA nicht durchsetzen.

    Abstract
    Welchen Beitrag leistet Open Access zur Steuerung und Ökonomisierung der Wissenschaft? Open Access wurde zu Beginn des Jahrtausends als wissenschaftliches Selbstverwaltungsmodell für eine schnellere und gerechtere Wissenschaftskommunikation porträtiert.     Abstract
    Nach dem der Wissenschaftsverlag Elsevier gegen Ende letzten Jahres vor einem New Yorker Gericht die Löschung der Domains der Schattenbibliotheken Sci-Hub, BookFi and LibGen erwirkte, dürfte man im niederländischen Firmensitz das Gefühl des Sieges genossen haben. Doch es scheint als sei der Triumph von kurzer Dauer und zudem recht trügerisch.

    Wissenschaftliches Publizieren im Zeichen betriebswirtschaftlicher Massenproduktion.- Frank Müller sammelt seit Jahren fragwürdige wissenschaftliche Publikationen aus den Natur- und Materialwissenschaften. Er berichtet von Fälschungsquoten im deutlich zweistelligen Prozentbereich sowie von der Schwierigkeit, solche Publikationen zu kennzeichnen oder aus dem wissenschaftlichen Diskurs zurückzuziehen, und macht Vorschläge zu Verbesserung des Kontrollsystems.

    Abstract
    Je höher die Ablehnungsrate eines wissenschaftlichen Journals, desto exklusiver aus Sicht von Autoren das Privileg einer akzeptierten Einreichung. Und - so die Annahme - umso größer die Qualität der publizierenden Journale. Eine Untersuchung widerspricht nun dieser landläufigen Meinung und spielt in die Hände von Kritikern wie Prof. Gerhard Fröhlich von der Universität Linz, der Ablehnungsquoten als reinen Prestigeschmuck ansieht.

    Abstract
    Open Access kennt verschiedene Spielarten. Der grüne Open Access ist in der Regel kostenfrei, denn hier werden Nutzern bereits in wissenschaftlichen Journalen publizierte Artikel in einer Art Zweitverwertung auf Open-Access-Servern entgeltfrei bereitgestellt. Im goldenen Open Access hingegen finden sich Journale, die Artikel ohne Publikationsgebühren im Open Access veröffentlichen, und solche, die für die Veröffentlichung der Texte eine sogenannte Article Processing Charge (APC) erheben. Daneben existiert noch der hybride Open Access: Dabei werden einzelne Artikel aus Journalen, die nicht im Open Access erscheinen, gegen entsprechende Zahlungen für die entgeltfreie Verfügbarkeit freigekauft.
