    Abstract
    Angesichts aktueller und voraussichtlich in naher Zukunft startender Infrastrukturprojekte der Frauen/Gender-Informationseinrichtungen einerseits und der Gender Studies andererseits, soll im Folgenden auf den Sinn und die Notwendigkeit einer gemeinsamen gendersensiblen Dokumentationssprache hingewiesen werden. Dieser Beitrag entstand im Rahmen des Masterstudiums der Bibliotheks- und Informationswissenschaften (MALIS) an der Technischen Hochschule Köln und verfolgt das Ziel, Vorschläge für die Erarbeitung eines Gender Thesaurus zu entwickeln.

    Abstract
    The Art and Architecture Thesaurus (AAT) was designed as a comprehensive vocabulary in its domain. Its faceted, hierarchically arranged structure allows for powerful indexing and retrieval capabilities, while its planned network of related term relationships makes it especially amenable to natural language processing. To gauge the AAT's effectiveness as a search tool against natural language queries, an experiment was carried out on DIALOG. There are 3 art data bases on DIALOG and there are also a number of other data bases that contain art related material. The experiment used queries culled from reference librarians at art and architecture libraries.

    Abstract
    Feministische Thesauri sind Begriffsnetze der Frauen*- und Geschlechterforschung, die in der bibliothekarischen Praxis jene Lücken schließen, die konventionelle Normdateien bei der Sacherschließung relevanter Literatur hinterlassen. Mit thesaurA wurde Mitte der 1990er Jahren der erste kooperative frauen*spezifische Fachthesaurus Österreichs erstellt. Der SAR-Index der Ariadne, der Frauen*- und Geschlechterdokumentationsstelle der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek (ÖNB), ist eine lokale Weiterentwicklung. Ein Wechsel des Bibliothekssystems an der ÖNB macht eine Migration des Vokabulars erforderlich. Der Beitrag beleuchtet das Migrationsprojekt im Kontext feministischer Beschlagwortung und entwickelt Überlegungen zu kooperativen Thesaurus-Projekten weiter, die unabhängig der fachlichen Ausrichtung Relevanz entfalten können.

    Abstract
    Es ist ein semantisches Netz für den Gegenstandsbereich Luftfahrt modelliert worden, welches Unternehmensinformationen, Organisationen, Fluglinien, Flughäfen, etc. enthält, Diese sind 10 Hauptkategorien zugeordnet worden, die untergliedert nach Facetten sind. Die Begriffe des Gegenstandsbereiches sind mit 23 unterschiedlichen Relationen verknüpft worden (Z. B.: 'hat Standort in', bietet an, 'ist Homebase von', etc). Der Schwerpunkt der Betrachtung liegt auf dem Unterschied zwischen den drei klassischen Standardrelationen und den zusätzlich eingerichteten Relationen, bezüglich ihrem Nutzen für ein effizientes Retrieval. Die angelegten Kategorien und Relationen sind sowohl für eine kognitive als auch für eine maschinelle Verarbeitung geeignet.
    Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit ist es, ein Modell für ein Informationssystems zu erstellen und die Voraussetzungen und Aspekte zu betrachten, die notwendig sind, um Einsichten in die begrifflichen Zusammenhänge des Gegenstandsbereiches Luftfahrt zu erlangen. Der Ansatz, der hier erläutert wird, plädiert für die Konstruktion einer begrifflichen Wissensstruktur in Form eines semantischen Netzes. Ausgangspunkt dieser Überlegungen ist die Auffassung, daß zwar das kontrollierte Vokabular eines Thesaurus mit seiner Verweisstruktur vielfältiges Wissen enthält, das aber aufgrund der drei klassischen Standardrelationen nur unzureichend repräsentiert und damit auch nur beschränkt zugänglich ist. Es wird erläutert, welche Vorteile eine Erweiterung der drei Thesaurusrelationen erbringen kann und in welcher Funktion die Relationen bei der Formulierung der Suchanfrage unterstützend sein können. Gezeigt wird, wie die Begriffstrukturen eines semantischen Netzes deutlicher hervortreten, wenn bei der Erstellung einer Wissensstruktur eines Gegenstandsbereiches Kategorien zugrunde gelegt werden und welche Gestaltungsprinzipien den Suchprozeß unterstützen können. Dazu werden die Voraussetzungen erörtert, die garantieren, daß komplexe Suchanfragen (erfolgreich) geleistet werden können und zu präzisen Treffermengen führen.

    Abstract
    Eine ständig wachsende Zahl von Dokumentaren und Dokumentationsstellen erkennt die Bedeutung des Thesaurus als Grundlage jeder Dokumentationsarbeit. Diesem Umstand will die Deutsche Gesellschaft für Dokumentation auch dadurch Rechnung tragen, daß sie einen Gesprächskreis für Thesaurusfragen in Leben ruft.     Abstract
    ISO 25964-1 ist der neue internationale Standard für Thesauri. Die Norm ersetzt ISO 2788 und ISO 5964. Erschienen unter dem vollständigen Titel "Information and documentation -Thesauri and interoperability with other vocabularies - Part 1: Thesauri for information retrieval" berücksichtigt ISO 25964-1 einsprachige und mehrsprachige Thesauri sowie die heutigen Anforderungen an Interoperabilität, Networking und die gemeinsame Nutzung von Daten (Data Sharing). Im Standard sind folgende Themen enthalten: - Erstellung einsprachiger und mehrsprachiger Thesauri; - Klärung des Unterschieds zwischen Benennungen und Begriffen und ihrer Beziehungen zueinander; - Richtlinien zur Facettenanalyse, zur Gestaltung und Darstellung von Thesauri; - Richtlinien zur Thesaurusnutzung in computergestützten und vernetzten Systemen; Best-Practice-Modell für Management der Thesaurusentwicklung und -wartung; - Leitfaden Thesaurusverwaltungssoftware; - Datenmodell für ein- und mehrsprachige Thesauri; - zusammengefasste Empfehlungen für Austauschformate und -protokolle. Aus dem Datenmodell wurde ein XML-Schema für Datenaustauschzwecke erstellt, das frei verfügbar ist unter http://www.niso.org/schemas/iso25964/.

    Abstract
    Moderne Verfahren des Information Retrieval verlangen nach aussagekräftigen und detailliert relationierten Dokumentationssprachen. Der selektive Transfer einzelner Modellierungsstrategien aus dem Bereich semantischer Technologien für die Gestaltung und Relationierung bestehender Dokumentationssprachen wird diskutiert. Am Beispiel des Gegenstandsbereichs "Theater" der Schlagwortnormdatei wird ein hierarchisch strukturiertes Relationeninventar definiert, welches sowohl hinreichend allgemeine als auch zahlreiche spezifische Relationstypen enthält, welche eine detaillierte und damit funktionale Relationierung des Vokabulars ermöglichen. Die Relationierung des Gegenstandsbereichs wird als Ontologie im OWL-Format modelliert. Im Gegensatz zu anderen Ansätzen und Überlegungen zur Schaffung von Relationeninventaren entwickelt der vorgestellte Vorschlag das Relationeninventar aus der Begriffsmenge eines vorgegebenen Gegenstandsbereichs heraus. Das entwickelte Inventar wird als eine hierarchisch strukturierte Taxonomie gestaltet, was einen Zugewinn an Übersichtlichkeit und Funktionalität bringt.

    Abstract
    Zahlreich sind die Versuche, Strukturen begrifflicher Relationen, wie sie in Thesauren niedergelegt sind, durch Visualisierung verständlicher zu machen, doch nirgends ist das bisher in überzeugender Weise gelungen. Damit blieb der Gebrauch von Thesauri durchweg auf Fachleute (Dokumentare) verwiesen und eine Anwendung in der Breite fand nicht statt. Mit den neuen Möglichkeiten visueller und auditiver Darstellung, wie sie nun die Informationstechnologie bietet, läßt sich das ändern. Berichtet wird über ein Projekt im Zusammenhang mit der EXP02000, bei dem versucht wird, bisher weitgehend ungenutzte Potentiale von Thesauri für die Interaktion am Computer zu nutzen. Akteur am Point of Information ist dabei jeder Interessierte, gleich ob Laie oder Fachmann, Gegenstand der Strukturierung die Welt im Jahre 2000, Zugangssprache die Sprache der allgemeinen Kommunikation. Einsicht in die begrifflichen Strukturen in dem Sinne, daß man sie versteht, ist nicht erforderlich, die multimediale Präsentation ermöglicht sensitives Erfassen und nähert sich gewohntem intuitiven Umgang mit Begrifflichkeiten. Jedermann kann so durch den Gedankenraum "reisen", sinnvollen Verknüpfungen und Wirkketten nachspüren, begriffliche Klärung und Einsichten gewinnen, für den Begriff das richtige Wort finden. Bei solch einer Reise wird er zugleich auch auf überraschende Zusammenhänge stoßen. Der Sprung in die Quellen wird von jedem angesteuerten Punkt aus möglich. Die Grenzen des herkömmlichen Information Retrieval zerfließen damit und öffnen sich hin zu neuen, bisher vernachlässigten Räumen: dem Erleben, der Anregung, dem sinnvollen Spiel, der Überraschung, dem unterhaltsamen Lernen

    Abstract
    Die Dokumentare blicken heute auf eine rund hundertjährige Diskussion über die richtige klassifikatorische Erschließung von Dokumenten und ihren thematischen Inhalten zurück. Daneben hat sich die ISKO speziell der Frage nach der Organisation des in den Dokumenten enthaltenen Wissens durch Klassifikation, Kategorienbildung und Thesaurierung gewidmet. Dieser, durch die Möglichkeiten des Volltextretrievals zeitweilig etwas in den Hintergrund geratene Erfahrungsschatz, gewinnt durch die neuen sogenannten semantischen Thesauri eine ungeahnte Renaissance. Dabei ist der allgemeinen Aufmerksamkeit entgangen, dass die sich aus der Semiotik ableitende Entsprechung des semantischen Thesaurus, die des pragmatischen Thesaurus, völlig unbeachtet blieb. Eingehende Überlegungen zu dieser Thematik zeigen, dass es sich bei den semantischen Thesauri eigentlich um semiotische Thesauri handelt, weil sie beiden Aspekten, dem semantischen und dem pragmatischen, gerecht werden müssen. Thesauri sind in diesem Sinne die semiotische Schnittstelle zwischen den semantischen Objektbezeichnungen des Senders und der pragmatischen Begriffsbestimmung dieser Zeichen durch den Empfänger einer Nachricht. Es soll nun geprüft werden, ob und wieweit über die SGML- (Standard Generalized Markup Language) bzw. die XML-Philosophie (eXtensible Markup Language) Computern eine gewisse Begrifflichkeit vermittelbar ist

    Abstract
    Das Internet-Portal >FIZ Wirtschaft< bündelt wichtige Informationsbestände der vier Institutionen GBI, HWWA, ifo Institut und ZBW zu den Bereichen Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Betriebswirtschaft, Volkswirtschaft und Politik zu einem umfassenden Informationspool. Das Spektrum ist breit gefächert und umfasst auch Informationen zu Randgebieten von betriebswirtschaftlichen Aspekten in der Produktion bis hin zu Rechtsfragen und Umweltökonomie. Recherchen in vordefinierten Themenpools oder Einzeldatenbanken, Nutzung von Online-Katalogen, Abspeichern von Profildiensten, Durchführung von Auftragsrecherchen oder auch individuelle Intranetanbindungen sind realisierbar. Zudem bietet FIZ Wirtschaft auch eine Volltextbestellung bei den Instituten HWWA, ito Institut und ZBW zu den recherchierten Dokumenten. Geordert werden kann Material aus der ganzen Welt. Eingebunden ist auch der StandardThesaurus-Wirtschaft als Hilfsmittel zur Suche nach Schlagworten oder Begriffen, aber auch als generelle Orientierungshilfe im wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen Begriffsumfeld mit direkter Suchmöglichkeit. Das Portal ist daher eine Fundgrube für alle, die wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Informationen benötigen wie Mitarbeiter in volkswirtschaftlichen Abteilungen von Firmen, Unternehmensberatungen, wirtschaftlichen Verbänden und Sparkassen
