- Abstract
- Wissensvernetzung ist mehr als Verknüpfung von Daten und Informationen - ein Aspekt, der in vielen Unternehmen bisher zu kurz gekommen ist. 'Wissensmanagement kostet viel und bringt uns nichts' lautet dann das voreilige Urteil. Die Herausforderungen reichen deutlich weiter: Projekte der Produktentwicklung schneller und erfolgreicher zu machen bedeutet, Experten-Wissen sowohl durch die Organisation als auch durch geeignete Methoden zu vernetzen. Dieses Buch liefert Ideen und Hinweise für die Gestaltung der Wissensvernetzung und zeigt anhand von fünf Unternehmens-Beispielen, welche Erfahrungen und Erfolge damit in der Praxis erreicht wurden. - Abstract
- Die Abhandlung beschreibt die Rolle des Informationsmanagements in der Lernenden Organisation. Entgegen vieler Annahmen im Wissensmanagement gelangt die Untersuchung zu dem Schluss, dass allein Information außerhalb des Individuums gespeichert werden kann, während Wissen nur in Individuen oder in einer Ansammlung von Individuen vorliegt. Deshalb werden Ansätze des Informationsmanagements zu Grunde gelegt, um Aktivierung, Produktion und Entwicklung von Wissen in Organisationen zu beschreiben. Im Fokus der Untersuchung steht der Informationsbedarf eines auf Informationen angewiesenen Benutzers, der Entscheidungsgrundlagen für die Lösung von Aufgaben benötigt. Der Beitrag zeichnet sich durch die Einbindung eines neuen Aspekts in gängige Betrachtungsweisen des Informationsbedarfs aus: Die Erzeugung von Bedarf durch Informationsangebote. Dieser Ansatz ergänzt die Theorie, dass sich Informationsbedarf aus objektiven Anforderungen an die Lösung einer Aufgabe und der subjektiven Einschätzung benötigter Informationen entwickelt und erlaubt so, den umgekehrten Weg vom Informationsangebot hin zum Informationsbedarf zu gehen. Den Aspekt der Erzeugung von Informationsbedarf durch Informationsangebot greift der empirische Teil der Arbeit auf, der die Informationsplattformen Groupware und Unternehmens-/ Mitarbeiterportal in einem Produktionsbetrieb der Automobilindustrie analysiert.

Die Ausdrücke "Informationsmanagement" und "lernende Organisation" gewinnen in unserer Informationsgesellschaft immer mehr an Bedeutung. Informationsmanagement ermöglicht es, Informationen zu managen und den Informationsfluss in einem Unternehmen zu optimieren. Von einer "Lernenden Organisation" spricht man, wenn sich ein Unternehmen in einem ständigen Entwicklungsprozess befindet. Informationsmanagement oder auch Wissensmanagement wird häufig in solchen Organisationen angewandt.
Inhaltsübersicht Die Studie von Dzemal Mujan besteht aus zwei Teilen. Zunächst verfügt sie über einen theoretischen Teil, in dem die wichtigsten Aspekte des Informationsmanagements der lernenden Organisation und der Informationsbedarfsanalyse aufgegriffen werden. Des Weiteren gibt es den praktischen Teil, der sich mit einer konkreten Informationsbedarfsanalyse im DaimlerChrysler Werk Düsseldorf beschäftigt. Vor allem durch die Praxisnähe ist das Buch sehr interessant. Das, was im ersten Teil theoretisch erläutert wurde, wird im zweiten Teil erneut aufgegriffen und praktisch angewandt. Mujan beginnt mit der Begriffsklärung "Information als Ressource". Diese grenzt er klar von Wissen ab und kommt zu dem Ergebnis, dass Information - nicht Wissen- zum Gegenstand des Managements wird. Seiner Meinung nach kann ausschließlich Information gemanagt werden, so dass er vorwiegend von Informationsmanagement spricht. In anderen Veröffentlichungen wird häufig auch von Wissensmanagement gesprochen. Informationsmanagement gilt allgemein eher als die technische Seite. So sorgt es letztlich für die Bereitstellung der Technik, wie etwa Datenbanksoftware, nicht aber zwingend für die sinnvolle Erschließung der Informationen. Mujan hingegen fasst die beiden Begriffe Wissensmanagement und Informationsmanagement zusammen. Neben der technischen Komponente verfügt Informationsmanagement auch über die Möglichkeit, die Ressource Information sinnvoll zu managen und aufzubereiten. Seiner Meinung nach ist es nicht anders möglich. Von "Wissensmanagement" zu sprechen, hält er für schwierig. Sein Standpunkt ist, dass Wissen sich nicht managen lässt, da es zwangsläufig immer an einen Menschen gebunden ist.
Um zu betonen, dass Informationsmanagement eben nicht ausschließlich Technik ist, geht er in seinem Werk ebenfalls darauf ein, zu welchen Disziplinen Informationsmanagement gezählt werden kann. Es gibt Überschneidungen mit dem Personalmanagement, Projektmanagement, Sicherheitsmanagement und dem Datenmanagement. Spricht man von einem übergeordneten Management, so kann man es der strategischen Ebene zuordnen. Dieser werden nach Stickel folgende Funktionen zugeschrieben - Entwicklung bzw. Fortschreibung von Strategien - Gestaltung der Organisation (Aufbau-und Ablauforganisation) - Gestaltung der Märkte (Beschaffungsund Absatzmärkte) - Gestaltung der Produktionsprozesse (Wertschöpfung) - Gestaltung der Unternehmenskultur und weitere Subsysteme (Stickel 2001, 7). Auch wenn der Titel ausschließlich von Informationsmanagement spricht, so steht im Fokus doch eher die Informationsbedarfsanalyse. Der ein oder andere Leser würde durch den Titel vielleicht etwas anderes erwarten. Natürlich spielt das Informationsmanagement ebenfalls eine große Rolle und gehört zwingend zu einer Informationsbedarfsanalyse in diesem Bereich dazu, trotzdem wird im praktischen Teil nur die Informationsbedarfsanalyse angewandt. Es wäre wünschenswert gewesen, wenn letzte ebenfalls im Titel erschienen wäre.

- Library world is actually facing 2 major changes. The one described by the concept of the Digital or Virtual Library let us already anticipate fundamental changes in the products and services libraries will deliver in the future. At present libraries also must react to important economic changes with phenomena like privatisation, deregulation and globalisation of economic processes which - at least in Germany - have now a growing impact on the library and information business. This situation is a real challenge for library management. But unfortunately new management concepts are hardly found in library literature and practice in Germany. Therefore the article wants to give to the library world some ideas on new management and business concepts like the 'learning organisation' or the 'innovative collaborator'
