    Abstract
    Dem »Web 2.0« wird immer wieder nachgesagt, es zersplittere die Öffentlichkeit in viele Teilöffentlichkeiten, welche vom Ganzen nichts mehr wissen (wollen). Wie verhält es sich damit beim Einsatz »sozialer Software«1 in Bibliotheken, gemeinhin mit »Bibliothek 2.0« bezeichnet? Bietet die Integration von Web 2.0-Anwendungen in die Bibliotheksarbeit neue Chancen, Bevölkerungsteile an die Wissensgesellschaft heranzuholen oder trägt sie eher dazu bei, Benachteiligungen und Zugangsbarrieren, den sogenannten »Digital Divide«, zu zementieren? Der Bibliothekar Jürgen Plieninger, der regelmäßig in seiner Kolumne »Blickpunkt Internet« für BuB Themen rund um die neuen Medien praxisnah aufbereitet, beschreibt, wie das Mitmach-Netz die Bibliotheksarbeit verändern kann.
