- Abstract
- Über 180 Informationsexpertinnen und Informationsexperten sind der Einladung der FH Potsdam und von FIZ Karlsruhe zu den Potsdamer Information- Science-Tagen (kurz: I-Science-Tage) gefolgt, um sich vom 23. bis 24. März 2010 über die aktuellen Entwicklungen im Forschungsdatenmanagement zu informieren. Die Teilnehmenden aus Wissenschaft, Bibliotheken, Infrastruktureinrichtungen sowie wissenschaftlicher Softwareentwicklung nutzten am ersten Tag das gemeinsame Forum mit zahlreichen Expertenvorträgen zu "eScience und Forschungsdatenmanagement" ausgiebig dazu, grundlegende Fragestellungen des Datenmanagements im Forschungsprozess zu diskutieren. Am zweiten Tag gab es zwei Workshops für speziell Interessierte: den eSciDoc-Workshop für Anwendungsentwickler zur Realisierung konkreter Lösungen auf Basis der eSciDoc-Software und einen Erfahrungsaustausch im Rahmen des Projekts "Wibaklidama" mit über 20 Einrichtungen aus dem Raum Brandenburg-Berlin, die im Rahmen der Klimaplattform miteinander vernetzt sind.

- Abstract
- Um E-Commerce-Angebote attraktiv zu gestalten, reichen Informationen zu den eigenen Produkten und Dienstleistungen nicht aus. Erforderlich ist vielmehr die Integration von Inhalten, die die eigenen sinnvoll ergänzen, aber in der Regel im eigenen Unternehmen nicht verfügbar sind. Ein ähnliches Problem stellt sich im Bezug auf Intranets. Für die Nutzer eines Intranets ist ein Angebot wenig interessant, dass sich lediglich auf hausintern erstellte Informationen beschränkt. Attraktiv ist vielmehr, wenn in ein Intranet auch weiterführende Inhalte zu Kunden, Lieferanten, Branche oder Region enthält. Vor diesem Hintergrund gewinnt Content Syndication an Bedeutung. Content Syndication beschreibt die an kommerziellen Zielen orientierte Bereitstellung von Informationen an Geschäftskunden, so z. B. für E-Commerce-Angebote oder Intranets. Ziel des Beitrags ist es, einen Überblick über Konzept und erste Umsetzungserfahrungen mit Content Syndication zu geben. Dazu ist zwischen einer ökonomischen und einer technischen Perspektive zu unterscheiden. Als Einstieg in die ökonomische Perspektive wird das Fallbeispiel der Tanto AG dargestellt, einem Syndicator aus Hamburg. Tanto (www.tanto.de) stellt über einen elektronisch verfügbaren Katalog Informationen aus den verschiedensten Gebieten online zur Verfügung. Der Kunde kann die Inhalte einzeln bezahlen oder aber ein Abonnement eingehen. Auf Basis dieses Beispiels lassen sich die generellen Gestaltungsparameter für das Geschäftsmodell eines Syndicator aufzeigen: Zielsetzung des Anbieters, Einordnung in sein sonstiges Leistungsspektrum, abgedeckte Themenfelder, Exklusivität der Inhalte sowie Abstützung auf Markennamen (von Inhaltelieferanten). Die nähere Analyse dieser Parameter zeigt eine Reihe von Besonderheiten. So verfolgen keinesfalls alle Anbieter das Ziel, mit der Übertragung von Inhalten unmittelbar Erlöse zu generieren. Vielmehr erhalten sie häufig als Gegenleistung die Möglichkeit, auf den WWW-Seiten des Nachfragers kostenfrei Werbung zu platzieren, den eigenen Markennamen in den Inhalten deutlich zu verankern oder aber Interessenten (z. B. durch Kurztexte und integrierte Links) bequem auf die eigenen WWW-Angebote zu locken. Als Beispiel für die technische Ebene wird das Standardisierungsprojekt in der Fachverlagsgruppe BertelsmannSpringer präsentiert Ziel von BertelsmannSpringer ist es, die in den Fachverlagen entwickelten Inhalte über die hauseigenen Online-Anbieter (wie z. B. das Baunetz, www.baunetz.de) mehrfach zu verwerten. Zu diesem Zweck wird ein XML-basieter Standard für den Inhalteaustausch zwischen Verlagen und Online-Anbietern gerade schrittweise eingeführt. Ausgehend von diesem Fall lassen sich die wichtigsten Fragen einer technischen Unterstützung des Content Syndication aufzeigen. Dazu zählt neben der Einführung von Standards (wie z. B. dem News Industry Text Format oder der Information and Content Exchange Specification) auch die systemtechnische Unterstützung einzelner Aufgaben bei Anbieter und Nachfrager. Ein besonderer Fokus ist dabei auf die (halbautomatische) Klassifikation von Inhalten sowie die Bereitstellung für den Nachfrager (im Push- oder Pull-Modus) zu richten. Auf Basis dieser Überlegungen wird ein erstes Zwischenfazit zu den Möglichkeiten und Grenzen von Content Syndication gezogen. Ergänzend wird ein kurzer Ausblick auf Application Syndication gegeben. Application Syndication sieht vor, dem nachfragenden Unternehmen das Recht einzuräumen, in sein eigenes WWW-Angebot bzw. sein Intranet ein Anwendungssystem eines entsprechenden Anbieters einzubinden. Es ist daher als Weiterentwicklung von Content Syndication zu betrachten, befindet sich aber noch ganz überwiegend in der Erprobung

- Abstract
- Das Web ist zur Tatsache geworden. Und mit dem Web entstand eine boornende Industrie, die viel zu erzählen hat, einiges leistet, den Marketingmix eines Unternehmens völlig verändert oder gar ganze Geschäftsprozesse neu definiert hat. - Abstract
- Der vorliegende Band ist eine Dokumentation eines Seminars im Studiengang Informationswirtschaft an der Hochschule der Medien. Mit den Beiträgen hoffen der Herausgeber und die Autoren, einen Einblick in die derzeitige Diskussion um die Konzeption, die Einführung und den Betrieb von Knowledge Communities zur Unterstützung von Wissensaustausch und -management geben zu können. Angesprochen sind gleichermaßen Studierende wie Praktiker in den Unternehmen. eine Vielzahl von Käufern und Anbietern auf einer Plattform zusammen und bewirken so eine Bündelung von produkt- bzw. branchenrelevanten Informationen und Handelsaktivitäten. Dabei unterstützen sie beide Marktseiten gleichermaßen bei der Anbahnung und Abwicklung von Transaktionen. Das Buch behandelt die spezielle Form der Business-to-Business-Marktplätze, denen Prognosen das größte Wachstumspotenzial vorhersagen. Der Inhalt beruht auf einer Forschungsarbeit im Studiengang Informationswirtschaft an der Stuttgarter Hochschule der Medien in Kooperation mit dem Fraunhofer-Institut für Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation (IAO), ebenfalls in Stuttgart. Ziel ist es, kleinen und mittelständischen Unternehmen die Auswahlentscheidung für eine Marktplatzteilnahme zu erleichtern. Dafür werden funktionelle Grundlagen und Potenziale aufgezeigt, verschiedene Marktplatztypen und Geschäftsmodelle vorgestellt sowie Checklisten geliefert, die die Bewertung eines Marktplatzes ermöglichen.

- Abstract
- Die Qualität der Auskünfte in einem Call-Center des Typus Informationshotline wird gewährleistet durch die zentrale Bereitstellung von Informationen zu Produkten und Dienstleistungen eines Unternehmens. Dies kann in Form von Datenbanken, wie die in dieser Arbeit analysierten Kundentelefon-Wissensdatenbank der Deutschen Post AG (KT-WEB), realisiert werden. Damit die Call-Center-Mitarbeiter präzise, schnell und zuverlässig auf die im Kundengespräch relevanten Informationen zugreifen können, müssen die Informationen inhaltlich entsprechend erschlossen sein. Für KT-WEB wird dazu ein Konzept zur Optimierung der inhaltlichen Erschließung und Suche entwickelt, das über die bisher eingesetzten Erschließungsmethoden, Systematik und Volltexterschließung, hinaus geht: eine Erschließung mit facettierten Schlagwörtern.

- Abstract
- Informationsmanagement ist Management- wie Technikdisziplin und gilt als Teil der Unternehmensführung. Die Notwendigkeitvon Medienunternehmen, einem qualifizierten Informationsmanagement nachzukommen, gründet vor allem auf jüngsten Entwicklungen im sozialen, wirtschaftlichen und technischen Bereich. Eine landesweite Analyse aus Expertengesprächen mit Geschäftsführern und Technischen Leitern in österreichischen Medienunternehmen brachte folgende Ergebnisse: Medienunternehmen betreiben ein auf mehrere Abteilungen verteiltes, sog. funktionales Informationsmanagement. Die Institutionalisierung in Form eines Informationsmanagers oder einer IM-Abteilung wird von der Unternehmensgröße, entsprechenden Bewerbern oder auch der Finanzierung abhängig gemacht. In einem Branchenvergleich von Medienunternehmen mit Banken und Versicherungen ergaben sich in Bezug auf das Informationsmanagement viele Übereinstimmungen; allerdings übersteigt bei Medienunternehmen die Bedeutung der Informations- und Kommunikationssysteme eindeutig den Stellenwert der Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik. In einem Ausblick wird Medienunternehmen die Schaffung eines Informationsmanagers empfohlen.

- Abstract
- Das Buch hat das Ziel, der Kommunikationsperspektive im Wissenstransfer mehr Gewicht zu geben. Die Autoren gehen der Frage nach, wie Kommunikation gestaltet werden kann, um den internen und externen Wissenstransfer zu verbessern. Der erste Teil behandelt die theoretischen Grundlagen zur Wissenskommunikation aus Sicht der Forschung. Im zweiten Teil werden anhand von Fallstudien Methoden und Instrumente der Wissenskommunikation für die Praxis erläutert. Im letzten Teil werden zum einen die Gestaltungsfaktoren von Wissenskommunikation, die anhand der Fallstudien erörtert wurden, kritisch gewürdigt. Zum anderen werden anhand einer theoretischen Reflexion die Implikationen für die weitere Forschung zum Konzept der Wissenskommunikation aufgezeigt.
