- Abstract
- Hypertext, eine neue Art der Informationsdarstellung, ist innerhalb weniger Jahre zu einem auf zahlreichen Fachkonferenzen diskutierten Thema im Umfeld von Informatik, Informationswissenschaft, K?nstlicher Intelligenz, Linguistik, Psychologie und Lerntheorie geworden. Die Faszination, die von diesem Medium auf Forschung, Entwicklung und Anwendung gleicherma~en ausgeht, beruht auf der prinzipiell nichtlinearen Organisation der Hypertexteinheiten und den benutzerfreundlichen Formen des ebenfalls nichtlinearen, flexiblen Zugriffs auf die Einheiten in einem Hypertextsystem. In dieser Einf?hrung in die Hypertextmethodik werden die wesentlichen Elemente von Hypertextsystemen, die Informationseinheiten und Verkn?pfungsarten sowie die hypertextspezifischen Navigationsformen, ausf?hrlich theoretisch und anschaulich am Beispiel existierender kommerzieller und experimenteller Hypertextsysteme behandelt. Besonderer Wert wird auf den Zusammenhang von Hypertext und Information Retrieval und die Einsatzm÷glichkeiten von Hypertext in Lernumgebungen gelegt. In theoretischer Hinsicht wird untersucht, ob sich Hypertextbenutzer mit Vorteil gegen?ber anderen Medien die Information erarbeiten k÷nnen, die sie aktuell in kritischen Situationen ben÷tigen, ob und wodurch also gegen?ber traditionellen linearen Formen ein ~informationeller Mehrwert~ erzielt wird. Au~erdem wird die M÷glichkeit diskutiert, mit Hilfe von Textanalyseverfahren und Techniken der Wissensrepr"sentation Hypertexte aus Texten automatisch aufzubauen. Das Buch enth"lt eine umfassende Bibliographie und im Anhang ein Glossar und eine strukturierte Beschreibung der wichtigsten gegenw"rtig erh"ltlichen oder in Entwicklung befindlichen Hypertextsysteme.

- Abstract
- Die Konzeption von ENFORUM beruht auf einer verteilten Organisation der informationswissenschaftlichen Kompetenzzentren im deutschsprachigen Bereich und der kooperativen Erarbeitung von ENFORUM-Einträgen über elektronische Kommunikationsforen. ENFORUM wird zum einen in den wissenschaftlichen Kontext elektronischer Wörterbücher und Enzyklopädien eingeordnet, zum anderen werden Vor- und Nachteile asynchroner elektronischer Kommunikation diskutiert, mit dem Ergebnis, dass die Kompensationsleistung von Moderatoren in Kommunikationsforen für den Erfolg der Diskurse unabdingbar ist. Der aktuelle Stand von ENFORUM (März 2002) wird vorgestellt. ENFORUM ist ein voll operatives System mit adaptiver Benutzerverwaltung, flexiblen Such- und Navigationsformen und ersten Funktionen in Richtung Wissensplattform. Überlegungen zur funktionalen Weiterentwicklung von ENFORUM und zum Einsatz in der Ausbildung schließen den Artikel ab.

- Abstract
- Das Passagen-Retrieval erlaubt explorierendes Navigieren in Volltextdatenbanken, aber auch in textorientierten Hypertextbasen. Es wird experimentell an fünf, im Information Retrieval geläufigen Assoziationskoeffizienten überprüft, inwieweit mit ihnen Textpassagen, gewonnen aus der Konversion von Absätzen aus einer Buchvorlage (Hypertextbuch von R. Kuhlen, 1991b), automatisch verknüpft werden können. Voraussetzung für die Anwendung der Maße ist eine Volltextinvertierung mit linguistisch abgesicherter Stammformenreduktion. Die Ergebnisse, gewonnen aus der Bewertung der Verknüpfungsangebote entsprechend den Berechnungen nach den fünf Koeffizienten und aus dem Vergleich mit einer intellektuellen Verknüpfungsvorgabe, zeigen eine deutliche Präferenz zugunsten des Asymmetrie-Maßes, das vielleicht noch durch eine Kombination mit dem Cosinus-Maß verbessert werden könnte. Die automatisch erstellten Verknüpfungsangebote sind sowohl im Autoren-Modus zur Unterstützung des Aufbaus von Hypertextbasen sinnvoll als auch im Lese-Modus als Möglichkeit des assoziativen Navigierens in großen Hypertextbasen verwendbar.
