    Abstract
    Eine der wesentlichen Aufgaben als Fachreferent*in ist die inhaltliche Erschließung der neuerworbenen Literatur, sowie die Begutachtung und Auswahl der neu erschienenen Werke in den jeweiligen Fachgebieten hinsichtlich der Relevanz für die eigenen Sammlungen gemäß dem Sammlungsprofil der TU Wien Bibliothek. Im Zuge der Corona-Krise wurde die herkömmliche Arbeitsweise in der Sacherschließung beeinträchtigt, und es haben sich neue Herausforderungen, aber auch Möglichkeiten ergeben. Neben der fehlenden Autopsie der Literatur leidet auch die Sichtung und Erwerbung neuer Literatur unter der physischen Abwesenheit vom Arbeitsplatz bzw. der entsprechenden technischen Infrastruktur. Auch der persönliche Austausch mit den Kolleg*innen wurde deutlich erschwert. Neben den Schwierigkeiten wurden aber auch die neuen Handlungsoptionen auf beruflicher und individueller Ebene positiv gesehen. In dem Artikel werden unsere individuellen Erfahrungen an der TU Wien Bibliothek sowie Ausblicke in die Zukunft wiedergegeben.

    Abstract
    Wissenschaftliche Karrieren und Publikationen benötigen Reputation und möglichst viel Beachtung. Literatur, die diese Aufmerksamkeit findet, wird - so die gängige Annahme - häufig zitiert. Ausgehend von dieser Überlegung wurden Verfahren der Zitationsmessung entwickelt, die Auskunft über die Relevanz oder (wie im- und explizit oft auch postuliert wird) gar die Qualität einer Publikation oder eines Wissenschaftlers geben sollen.

    Abstract
    Diskussionen um Datennetze und Informationstechnik drehen sich häufig um kompetentes Handeln. In der Publikation werden Voraussetzungen eines autonomen informationellen Handelns gezeigt: Abstrahieren, Analogien bilden, Plausibilitäten beachten, Schlussfolgern und kreativ sein. Informationelle Kompetenz ist gelebte Informationelle Autonomie. Es lassen sich Konsequenzen für ein zukünftiges Menschenbild in informationstechnischen Umgebungen ziehen.

    Abstract
    Werden Maschinen mit Begriffen beschrieben, die ursprünglich der Beschreibung des Menschen dienen, so liegt zunächst der Verdacht nahe, dass jene Maschinen spezifischmenschliche Fähigkeiten oder Eigenschaften besitzen. Für körperliche Fähigkeiten, die mechanisch nachgeahmt werden, hat sich in der Alltagssprache eine anthropomorphisierende Sprechweise bereits etabliert. So wird kaum in Frage gestellt, dass bestimmte Maschinen weben, backen, sich bewegen oder arbeiten können. Bei nichtkörperlichen Eigenschaften, etwa kognitiver, sozialer oder moralischer Art sieht dies jedoch anders aus. Dass mittlerweile intelligente und rechnende Maschinen im alltäglichen Sprachgebrauch Eingang gefunden haben, wäre jedoch undenkbar ohne den langjährigen Diskurs über Künstliche Intelligenz, welcher insbesondere die zweite Hälfte des vergangenen Jahrhunderts geprägt hat. In jüngster Zeit ist es der Autonomiebegriff, welcher zunehmend Verwendung zur Beschreibung neuer Technologien findet, wie etwa "autonome mobile Roboter" oder "autonome Systeme". Dem Begriff nach rekurriert die "Autonomie" jener Technologien auf eine bestimmte Art technologischen Fortschritts, die von der Fähigkeit zur Selbstgesetzgebung herrührt. Dies wirft aus philosophischer Sicht jedoch die Frage auf, wie die Selbstgesetzgebung in diesem Fall definiert ist, zumal sich der Autonomiebegriff in der Philosophie auf die politische oder moralische Selbstgesetzgebung von Menschen oder Menschengruppen beziehungsweise ihre Handlungen bezieht. Im Handbuch Robotik hingegen führt der Autor geradezu beiläufig die Bezeichnung "autonom" ein, indem er prognostiziert, dass "[.] autonome Roboter in Zukunft sogar einen Großteil der Altenbetreuung übernehmen werden."

    Abstract
    Was ist eigentlich die Seele und wie hängt sie mit dem Gehirn zusammen? Seit dem Altertum wird das Gehirn als Organ der Seele angesehen. Wo und wie aber das Psychische im Gehirn entsteht, wie sich dabei unsere Gefühlswelt, unsere Persönlichkeit und unser Ich formen, kann mit Hilfe der modernen Verfahren der Hirnforschung erst seit kurzem erforscht werden und wird in diesem Buch dargestellt.
    Die vergleichsweise junge Neurobiologie verstehen der "Altmeister" Gerhard Roth und seine junge Kollegin Nicole Strüber als ergänzende Wissenschaft zu Psychologie und Psychotherapie. Sie bekennen sich uneingeschränkt zur naturwissenschaftlichen Sichtweise: "Alles, was wir erleben, hat seinen Ort im Gehirn". Ihr Anspruch, dass es außerhalb der naturalistischen Betrachtungsweise keine anderen Erklärungsmodelle geben kann, wird seit vielen Jahren kontrovers diskutiert. Gerhard Roth weist selber auf eine Erklärungslücke hin: Es ist völlig unklar, wie Bewusstsein entsteht, auch wenn die biologischen Vorgänge im Gehirn bekannt sind. Dennoch ist er sich sicher, dass "aus neurobiologischer Sicht die Suche nach dem Sitz der Seele erfolgreich beendet wurde.",Auf den ersten 200 Seiten werden detailliert die Anatomie und Physiologie des Nervensystems erklärt. Psychologische Begriffe werden auf ihre neurobiologische Grundlage hin untersucht. Aufmerksamkeit, Gedächtnis und Persönlichkeit haben ihre typischen Lokalisationen im Gehirn. Einige Grundannahmen der Psychotherapien werden bestätigt, etwa die große Bedeutung der vorgeburtlichen und frühkindlichen Erfahrungen, die Bindungserfahrungen und die genetischen Dispositionen. Manche Therapiekonstrukte werden widerlegt, wie Freuds Traumtheorie oder die kognitive Umstrukturierung. Möglicherweise kann die Neurobiologie in Zukunft noch viel mehr zur Diagnostik und Therapie beitragen, meint Roth. Für Laien gibt es kaum ein vergleichbar umfangreiches Sachbuch, das dermaßen gut verständlich, klar und nüchtern die moderne Hirnforschung beschreibt.

    Abstract
    In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden die Ergebnisse des MorphoSaurus-Projekts der Deutschen Zentralbibliothek für Medizin (ZB MED) vorgestellt. Ziel des Forschungsprojekts war die substanzielle Verbesserung des Information-Retrievals der medizinischen Suchmaschine MEDPILOT mithilfe computerlinguistischer Ansätze sowie die Optimierung der Gebrauchstauglichkeit (Usability) der Suchmaschinenoberfläche. Das Projekt wurde in Kooperation mit der Averbis GmbH aus Freiburg im Zeitraum von Juni 2007 bis Dezember 2008 an der ZB MED in Köln durchgeführt. Ermöglicht wurde die Realisierung des Projekts durch eine Förderung des Paktes für Forschung und Innovation. Während Averbis die MorphoSaurus-Technologie zur Verarbeitung problematischer Sprachaspekte von Suchanfragen einbrachte und wesentliche Datenbanken der ZB MED in ein Testsystem mit moderner Suchmaschinentechnologie implementierte, evaluierte ein Team der ZB MED das Potenzial dieser Technologie. Neben einem Vergleich der Leistungsfähigkeit zwischen der bisherigen MEDPILOT-Suche und der neuen Sucharchitektur wurde ein Benchmarking mit konkurrierenden Suchmaschinen wie PubMed, Scirus, Google und Google Scholar sowie GoPubMed durchgeführt. Für die Evaluation wurden verschiedene Testkollektionen erstellt, deren Items bzw. Suchphrasen aus einer Inhaltsanalyse realer Suchanfragen des MEDPILOT-Systems gewonnen wurden. Eine Überprüfung der Relevanz der Treffer der Testsuchmaschine als wesentliches Kriterium für die Qualität der Suche zeigte folgendes Ergebnis: Durch die Anwendung der MorphoSaurus-Technologie ist eine im hohen Maße unabhängige Verarbeitung fremdsprachlicher medizinischer Inhalte möglich geworden. Darüber hinaus zeigt die neue Technik insbesondere dort ihre Stärken, wo es um die gleichwertige Verarbeitung von Laien- und Expertensprache, die Analyse von Komposita, Synonymen und grammatikalischen Varianten geht. Zudem sind Module zur Erkennung von Rechtschreibfehlern und zur Auflösung von Akronymen und medizinischen Abkürzungen implementiert worden, die eine weitere Leistungssteigerung des Systems versprechen. Ein Vergleich auf der Basis von MEDLINE-Daten zeigte: Den Suchmaschinen MED-PILOT, PubMed, GoPubMed und Scirus war die Averbis-Testsuchumgebung klar überlegen. Die Trefferrelevanz war größer, es wurden insgesamt mehr Treffer gefunden und die Anzahl der Null-Treffer-Meldungen war im Vergleich zu den anderen Suchmaschinen am geringsten.
    Bei einem Vergleich unter Berücksichtigung aller verfügbaren Quellen gelang es mithilfe der MorphoSaurus-Technik - bei wesentlich geringerem Datenbestand - ähnlich gute Resul-tate zu erzielen, wie mit den Suchmaschinen Google oder Google Scholar. Die Ergebnisse der Evaluation lassen den Schluss zu, dass durch den MorphoSaurus-Ansatz die Leistungsfähigkeit von Google oder Google Scholar im Bereich der medizinischen Literatursuche durch eine Erweiterung der vorhandenen Datenbasis sogar deutlich übertroffen werden kann. Zusätzlich zu den Retrieval-Tests wurde eine Usability-Untersuchung der Testsuchmaschine mit Probanden aus der Medizin durchgeführt. Die Testpersonen attestierten dem Such-interface eine hohe Gebrauchstauglichkeit und Nützlichkeit. Der szenariobasierte Usability-Test hat zudem gezeigt, dass die Testpersonen bzw. User die integrierten Unterstützungs-maßnahmen zur Erhöhung der Benutzerfreundlichkeit während der Suche als sehr positiv und nützlich bewerten. In der Testsuchmaschine wurde diese Unterstützung z. B. durch das Aufklappen und Präsentieren von verwandten MeSH- und ICD-10-Begriffen realisiert. Die Einführung eines Schiebereglers zur effektiven Eingrenzung des Suchraums wurde ebenfalls überwiegend positiv bewertet. Zudem wurden nach Abschicken der Suchanfrage sogenannte Verwandte Suchbegriffe aus verschiedenen medizinischen Teilbereichen angezeigt. Diese Facetten-Funktion diente der Eingrenzung bzw. Verfeinerung der Suche und wurde von den Testpersonen mehrheitlich als ein sinnvolles Hilfsangebot bewertet. Insgesamt stellt das MorphoSaurus-Projekt - mit seinem spezifischen Ansatz - ein gelungenes Beispiel für die Innovationsfähigkeit von Bibliotheken im Bereich der öffentlichen Informationsversorgung dar. Durch die mögliche Anpassung der MorphoSaurus-Technologie mittels fachspezifischer Thesauri ist zudem eine hohe Anschlussfähigkeit für Suchmaschinen-projekte anderer Inhaltsdomänen gegeben.

    Abstract
    In dieser Arbeit werden zwei Mehrwertdienste für Suchsysteme vorgestellt, die typische Probleme bei der Recherche nach wissenschaftlicher Literatur behandeln können. Die beiden Mehrwertdienste semantische Heterogenitätsbehandlung am Beispiel Crosskonkordanzen und Re-Ranking auf Basis von Bradfordizing, die in unterschiedlichen Phasen der Suche zum Einsatz kommen, werden in diesem Buch ausführlich beschrieben und evaluiert. Für die Tests wurden Fragestellungen und Daten aus zwei Evaluationsprojekten (CLEF und KoMoHe) verwendet. Die intellektuell bewerteten Dokumente stammen aus insgesamt sieben Fachdatenbanken der Fächer Sozialwissenschaften, Politikwissenschaft, Wirtschaftswissenschaften, Psychologie und Medizin. Die Ergebnisse dieser Arbeit sind in das GESIS-Projekt IRM eingeflossen.

    Abstract
    Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Integration von externen semantischen Inhalten auf Basis eines medizinischen Begriffssystems. Die zugrundeliegende Annahme ist, dass die Verwendung einer einheitlichen Terminologie auf Seiten des Anfragesystems und der Wissensbasis zu qualitativ hochwertigen Ergebnissen führt. Um dies zu erreichen muss auf Seiten des Anfragesystems eine Abbildung natürlicher Sprache auf die verwendete Terminologie gewährleistet werden. Dies geschieht auf Basis einer (semi-)automatischen Verschlagwortung textbasierter Inhalte. Im Wesentlichen lassen sich folgende Fragestellungen festhalten: Automatische Verschlagwortung textbasierter Inhalte Kann eine automatische Verschlagwortung textbasierter Inhalte auf Basis eines Begriffssystems optimiert werden? Der zentrale Aspekt der vorliegenden Arbeit ist die (semi-)automatische Verschlagwortung textbasierter Inhalte auf Basis eines medizinischen Begriffssystems. Zu diesem Zweck wird der aktuelle Stand der Forschung betrachtet. Es werden eine Reihe von Tokenizern verglichen um zu erfahren welche Algorithmen sich zur Ermittlung von Wortgrenzen eignen. Speziell wird betrachtet, wie die Ermittlung von Wortgrenzen in einer domänenspezifischen Umgebung eingesetzt werden kann. Auf Basis von identifizierten Token in einem Text werden die Auswirkungen des Stemming und POS-Tagging auf die Gesamtmenge der zu analysierenden Inhalte beobachtet. Abschließend wird evaluiert wie ein kontrolliertes Vokabular die Präzision bei der Verschlagwortung erhöhen kann. Dies geschieht unter der Annahme dass domänenspezifische Inhalte auch innerhalb eines domänenspezifischen Begriffssystems definiert sind. Zu diesem Zweck wird ein allgemeines Prozessmodell entwickelt anhand dessen eine Verschlagwortung vorgenommen wird.
    Integration externer Inhalte Inwieweit kann die Nutzung einer einheitlichen Terminologie zwischen Anfragesystem und Wissensbasis den Prozess der Informationsbeschaffung unterstützen? Zu diesem Zweck wird in einer ersten Phase ermittelt welche Wissensbasen aus der medizinischen Domäne in der Linked Data Cloud zur Verfügung stehen. Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen werden Informationen aus verschiedenen dezentralen Wissensbasen exemplarisch integriert. Der Fokus der Betrachtung liegt dabei auf der verwendeten Terminologie sowie der Nutzung von Semantic Web Technologien. Neben Informationen aus der Linked Data Cloud erfolgt eine Suche nach medizinischer Literatur in PubMed. Wie auch in der Linked Data Cloud erfolgt die Integration unter Verwendung einer einheitlichen Terminologie. Eine weitere Fragestellung ist, wie Informationen aus insgesamt 21. Mio Aufsatzzitaten in PubMed sinnvoll integriert werden können. Dabei wird ermittelt welche Mechanismen eingesetzt werden können um die Präzision der Ergebnisse zu optimieren. Eignung medizinischer Begriffssystem Welche medizinischen Begriffssysteme existieren und wie eignen sich diese als zugrungeliegendes Vokabular für die automatische Verschlagwortung und Integration semantischer Inhalte? Der Fokus liegt dabei speziell auf einer Bewertung der Reichhaltigkeit von Begriffssystemen, wobei insbesondere der Detaillierungsgrad von Interesse ist. Handelt es sich um ein spezifisches oder allgemeines Begriffssystem und eignet sich dieses auch dafür bestimmte Teilaspekte der Medizin, wie bspw. die Chirurige oder die Anästhesie, in einer ausreichenden Tiefe zu beschreiben?

    Abstract
    Unser Projekt soll eine Kreuzkonkordanz zwischen den Universalklassifikationen wie der "Regensburger Verbundsklassifikation (RVK)" und der "Basisklassifikation (BK)" sowie den Fachklassifikationen "Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC2010)" und "Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme (PACS2010)" in den Fachgebieten Mathematik und Physik herstellen. Fazit: "Die klassifikatorische Übereinstmmung zwischen Regensburger Verbundklassifikation und Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme war in einzelnen Fachbereichen (z. B. Kernphysik) recht gut. Doch andere Fachbereiche (z.B. Polymerphysik, Mineralogie) stimmten sehr wenig überein. Insgesamt konnten wir 890 einfache Verbindungen erstellen. Mehrfachverbindungen wurden aus technischen Gründen nicht mitgezählt. Das Projekt war insgesamt sehr umfangreich, daher konnte es im Rahmen der zwanzig Projekttage nicht erschöpfend behandelt werden. Eine Weiterentwicklung, insbesondere hinsichtlich des kollektiven Zuganges in Form eines Webformulars und der automatischen Klassifizierung erscheint jedoch sinnvoll."

    Abstract
    Der Artikel ist Teil einer größeren Untersuchung zu den Potentialen von Open Access Publishing zur Erhöhung der Publikations- und damit Karrierechancen von Sozialwissenschaftlerinnen. Es werden drei inhaltlich und methodisch ähnliche sozialwissenschaftliche Zeitschriften verglichen: das Open-Access-Journal "Forum Qualitative Sozialforschung" ("FQS") und die zwei Closed-Access-/Hybridjournale "Zeitschrift für qualitative Forschung" und "Sozialer Sinn". Erhoben wird (a) der jeweilige Frauenanteil unter Redaktions- und Beiratsmitgliedern dieser drei Zeitschriften (N=184 insgesamt), (b) aufwändig rekonstruiert und analysiert wird die Genderstruktur der Autorenschaften aller in den drei Zeitschriften zwischen 2000 und 2008 veröffentlichten Beiträge (Totalerhebung, N=1557 insgesamt).
