    Abstract
    Describes research carried out at the Central Library of the Politechnika Swictokizyska in Kielce, Poland, into the role of information retrieval languages (IRLs) in the process of accessing information. Research was done into the frequency of use of specific IRLs (subject heading systems, UDC and keywords) and preferences regarding the use of other methods of information retrieval
