    Abstract
The Clinton Electronic Communications Project is the successor to the Clinton campaign's e-mail programme. The object of the work reported here was to determine the degree to which White House material posted to the Internet is more current and comprehensive than information available through more traditional sources

    Abstract
With the increasing emphasis on student centered learning, the library at the university of Hull has taken several initiatives towards the creation of an awareness of networked electronic information resources on campus, encouraging their use in support of teaching and research. The 'free' access to Internet using JANET is explained, along with examples of the sort of data that can be browsed, and if required, downloaded. Discusses the use of Internet 'data' in computer based training is discussed, as well as e-mail and other online addresses (url). with some that might be useful to educationalists listed

    Abstract

Abstract
A common problem encountered in Web improvement is how to arrange the homepage links of a Website. This study analyses Web information search behavior, and applies the multiple demand theory to propose two models to help a visitor allocate time for multiple links. The process of searching is viewed as a formal choice problem in which the visitor attempts to choose from multiple Web links to maximize the total utility. The proposed models are calibrated to clickstream data collected from an educational institute over a seven-and-a-half month period. Based on the best fit model, a metric, utility loss, is constructed to measure the performance of each link and arrange them accordingly. Empirical results show that the proposed metric is highly efficient for prioritizing the links on a homepage and the methodology can also be used to study the feasibility of introducing a new function in a Website.

    Abstract
This article addresses the question of whether the Web can serve as an information source for research. Specifically, it analyzes by way of content analysis the Web pages retrieved by the major search engines on a particular date (June 7, 1998), as a result of the query 'informetrics OR informetric'. In 807 out of the 942 retrieved pages, the search terms were mentioned in the context of information science. Over 70% of the pages contained only indirect information on the topic, in the form of hypertext links and bibliographical references without annotation. The bibliographical references extracted from the Web pages were analyzed, and lists of most productive authors, most cited authors, works, and sources were compiled. The list of reference obtained from the Web was also compared to data retrieved from commercial databases. For most cases, the list of references extracted from the Web outperformed the commercial, bibliographic databases. The results of these comparisons indicate that valuable, freely available data is hidden in the Web waiting to be extracted from the millions of Web pages

    Abstract
Drawing on identity theory and privacy research, this article argues that the need for self-identity is a key factor affecting people's privacy behavior in social networking sites. I first unpack the mainstream, autonomy-centric discourse of privacy, and then present a research model that illustrates a possible new theorization of the relationship between self-identity and information privacy. An empirical study with Facebook users confirms the main hypotheses. In particular, the data show that the need for self-identity is positively related to privacy management behaviors, which in turn result in increased self-disclosure in online social networks. I subsequently argue that the so-called "privacy paradox" is not a paradox per se in the context of online social networking; rather, privacy concerns reflect the ideology of an autonomous self, whereas social construction of self-identity explains voluntary self-disclosure.
