    Abstract
    Das Internet verändert den Medienalltag. Damit ist der Computer nicht nur zu einem neuen Informations-, sondern auch zu einem Kommunikationsmedium geworden. Die Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit diesem Hybridmedium, indem insbesondere der Rahmen 'computervermittelter' interpersonaler Kommunikation näher bestimmt und vor dem Hintergrund multipler Medienrahmen verortet wird. Die theoretischen Verortungen werden durch eine empirische Fallstudie ergänzt. Gegenstand der Studie ist die Nutzung der Online-Angebote einer Tageszeitung. Da es sich um die ersten OnlineAktivitäten einer deutschen Tageszeitung überhaupt handelt, hat die Studie für zukünftige Forschungen sogar einen dokumentierenden Charakter.

    Abstract
    This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th European Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries, ECDL 2003, held in Trondheim, Norway in August 2003. The 39 revised full papers and 8 revised short papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 161 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on uses, users, and user interfaces; metadata applications; annotation and recommendation; automatic classification and indexing; Web technologies; topical crawling and subject gateways; architectures and systems; knowledge organization; collection building and management; information retrieval; digital preservation; and indexing and searching of special documents and collection information.

    Abstract
    Hypertext ist der Faden, der das Wissensnetz knüpft. Hypertext eröffnet qualitativ neuartige Formen der Darstellung und des Zugangs sowie spezifische Aktivitäten und Umgangsformen mit Information und Wissen. Damit ist Hypertext die Schlüsseltechnologie des neuen Mediums Internet und gewinnt im Bildungskontext zunehmend an Bedeutung. Wie findet man sich in stark vernetzten medialen Umgebungen zurecht? Was ist zu beachten, wenn man selbst Informationen, Daten und Dokumente mittels Hypertext vernetzen will?
